I just got my computer two months ago and its slow for loading times probally becuase lack of a SSD but decent for gaming. my specs are: CPU: Intel core i7 2600K MObo: Gigabyte P67 UDA4 B3 Ram: 8 GB DDR3 of Domintor GT GPU: two nVidia Geforce GTX 460's HDD: 1 TB Western digital
CPU: Coal-fuelled external combustion steam pump MObo: Music of black origin. Ram: Male sheep. Sometimes I randomly access my memory. GPU: A chinese schoolchild employed to draw 10 pictures a second, giving the appearance of fluid motion. HDD: Doesn't have one, I have to write it all down. What exactly do you hope to achieve with this thread? Or are you just showing off in the most pathetic way imaginable?
Right now, I have a crappy Compaq laptop and a 16GB 1st Generation iPad (which I love), but I am going to build my own machine come this Fall, when I resume graduate studies in mathematics (and will be getting paid a lot more than now!). What would you suggest for a desktop that can do extremely complex mathematical algorithmic processes (like MATLAB and Mathematica)? I don't play computer games, so I doubt I would need to spend a lot of money on graphics. However, I am in a jazz band, so having good music capabilities would be nice, now that I think of it... Also, I would prefer to build it from 'scratch' so to speak. I am not sure about an Operating System. I has extensive use of both Windows and Unix-based platforms (from at grad school). I like both. I am looking basically for sheer computational strength with the ability to do cool stuff with music (maybe recording etc.). Thanks. Oh. And I plan on getting an iPad II in the Spring haha.
My computer is the most amazing, ground breaking, legendary home computer ever: CPU: 8Bit MOS Tech 6510 @ 1Mhz Ram: 38911 Bytes Free GPU: VicII 320X200 X 16 Colors HDD: None - Floppies & Tapes ~170Kb Mobo: Commodore 64
The original babbage machine Videoslave its the I7chip. and the 1 TB main drive. This is not a game machine E8400 Core duo overclocked to 3.6 and 72Gb WD raptor have best load time without ssd Or you you could buy my 386 box.. thats a beauty
Ah yes, I have one of those for backup! My secretary has to punch cards 24/7 just to keep up! Also got a couple of IBM 360s, a Univac, oh, and a little Cray I use for writing emails... My Univac! My Cray, with me using it to write an email... Now if I could just get a hold of that turbo abacus...
I found my pc at the dump. Its a dell pentium 4 with 1 GB ram, gforce mx4000 and 2 160GB hard drives.
my computer is black...i heard the white ones were faster but i like the way the black one looks in my red desk
lol, i went to school who while drunk and stumbing around on the street found a pc and it had a core i7, 4 gigs of ram a geforce GT 210 and i didnt believe him untill he showed me at frist the case looked like a beaten up old ibm case but it really had those components and i thinking thats just like winning the lottery i couldnt believe it. mabey in 10 years from now you'll start seeing i7s in the dump more often
that would be great if he knew how to set up a surround sound... makes me wonder what else may be a little off about this system. although, I'd still own it. it's basically the kind of system i got now, minus the rediculously large tv monitors. and the killing devices are missing from mine too.
