pressing a pill

    if one was to have a tube and a salt and want to press a pill how much pressure would they need to send a rod down with, Im talking some real jimmy rigged press stuff here hypothetically menards supplies copper tube/rod over a board with a carved in area for tube to fall in a bit/ stay in place, my buddy wants to know can this be done proper? or am I having silly thoughts[​IMG]

    You need serious pressure (thousands of PSI) and a proper mixture of actives and binders for pressed pills to work well. A small hydraulic bottle jack and some fabrication skills (and access to a shop) might be a good starting point.

    Filling gelatin capsules is much easier. Not to mention that sales of pill presses/tableting machines are watched closely by the DEA....

    no worries on the fed side Im not that heavy, just messin around with some over the counter shit, hope its liquid inside robitussin cough gels, I think Ill be goin with the gellcaps though, certainly not going through that much trouble for the sake of a cap
