A thread about a members friend getting busted for a joint bought up something i have been thinking about. I would like to find out how average drug users feel about prison, considering many of us do not share the same values and priorities as average people of the average masses. Do you fear it? or just see it as a mild setback? or perhaps just another episode of life? I have been questioning this myself for a long time, someone i know spoke of prison as more of a life experience then a life ruining thing, which after giving thought i agree with. Not everyone wishes to be a politician or a teacher, so to some people, it must seem like just a free vacation from the real life... Surely prisons in reality are nothing like in the movies... Free food, books, gym and a lot of interesting people in one place for a year or two really seems a bit like an opportunity of many lessons and wisdom if treated right. So please, share your opinions and maybe even experiences.
I hope I never go to prison, but if I was to go for a short period of time I think I'd learn a lot from the experience and may not see it as such a horrible thing. Although to most people they'd think it was horrible
I have a friend who's brother is in St. quinten, one of the gnarliest prisons there are. I was friends with him too, not great friends but he was gnarly before he went there, I can't imagine what he's like now. He wasn't that big but his attitude was. I think he has to fight for his life like every day. He got a dui hit and run.
Yeah, i am sure society would view you... well, lol as a criminal irregardless of what you went in for... Being it morally right, or insulting to nature.
well it depends on the sentence. i've been arrested but never jailed. i'm pretty good with what i do that i don't go to jail... whatever it is that i do. 6-12 months maybe i can deal with, depends on what they tag on ontop of that.
But surely it can not be the whole blacks vs brotherhood vs latino bs with someone getting stabbed almost daily because of corrupt cops, just like your cliche movie?
my brother has been in and out of prison for about 15-20 years now, there are a lot of cliques, and there are a lot of fights as he tells me. i'm not sure about the stabbed thing, he has gotten in trouble for making shanks and for cops just not liking him. it depends on where you are sent, depends on the time, depends on a lot
Idk, I do think mabey it is like that but yeah idk. He's supposed to be released this coming year i think if he's good I will need to ask him whats up with one of the gnarliest prisons. I am sure people get stabbed at least daily in that prison, his bro talks to him and i talk to his bro and he really does have to be gnarly to survive.
I always watch those prison shows on tv, some of the really bad ones do resemble how they depict prison in movies. I would never wanna go to one of those prisons.
still shitting mcdonalds upon discharge.. pfft.. you dont wanna tell nobody upstate you have a little max like that, especially if their the kind a person to get in trouble, some people go to jail with little bits like that and get new cases inside cause they think the status will make them known, when in reality,, a lifer dont give a fuck how long you stay cause they aint ever getting out.. most Pennsylvania prisons are large daycare centers, with cowardly lions with waffle faces.. (meaning they have their face on the gate so long yip yapping, that they look like a waffle)...
i agree. i would not want to ever be caught up in the american prison system... its fucked. i think prison would only seem like a "vacation" if you've got a very, very shitty life... good thread btw
Jail<One Year Prison>One Year In Phoenix (I guess Maricopa county) you do not want either. For those of you that have never heard of tent city, google it. A girl I know served 60 days (7pm to 7am some sort of work release program) for a DUI (not her first). She hated tent city and it wasn't even during the really hot summer months. Either way, I have no interest in getting incarcerated. Possession is a class 6 felony here (but typically reduced to a class 1 misdemeanor) so a first conviction would most likely not get any time but multiple convictions would. I'd move to a better state if I was going to get jail time for another possession conviction. I'm also pretty sure that even your first DUI offense will now get you 10 or 30 days in tent city. I can't say I've never driven under the influence alcohol but I think I'm smarter than that.
well, since i'm on probation right now and if i get in trouble then i pretty much go directly to serving my two years inside, then i abhor the idea. i'm getting shit done, leveling up, so to speak. going to school, practicing skills, and forming relationships with beautiful people. prison would fuck that up real bad. so fuck that. i got tooo much going for me to waste time in jail. plus, i'm tapping this wicked hot ballerina right now and she turns 18 in like 3-4 months. on another note, i got a reality check when i caught that case. i was like 130lbs and weak as fuck stoner. so i started hitting the gym and taking some martial arts classes so if i ever anything happens and i go to jail, im not someones bitch. i put on 25 lbs of muscles and a bunch of mental muscle. now i've been in fights before, but never with prison rules. so hopefully that never has to happen.
how long are you on probation man? and i'd go nuts if i went to prison, just because it would royally fuck my life up. i am quite glad i can't get sent to the youth intervention center...i took a tour of that place for sociology in hs and that place is fucked up.
I see myself going to prison at least once in my life, i dont think theres any way to avoid it... Its just gonna be a life experience thing, i dont see it being a big issue unless its for something serious
wow, are you planning on getting dicked by a huge african man while in the steamy prison showers? is that gonna be a life experience?
