I have always wanted to try LSD or shrooms...but I am TERRIBLY paranoid, 24/7. Would it be inevitable for someone as paranoid as I am to have a bad trip? I've always wondered that...
My bad trips were all based in fear. There are things of which I afraid. LSD in particular made me face em, and I was not prepared. Be careful young Skywalker. Once they start, they almost never go away, the only cure is to face that which makes you afraid, or stop eating acid. I chose the cowards way out, I stopped eating acid.
I am mainly talking of LSD here when I say: I dont know how old you are but if under 18 or 20 then wait a while and if under 16 do not do that because there are bad repercussions in a developing brain by using these drugs. I have used both those drugs MANY times quite heavily, on and off over about a decade, and did not really suffer paranoia till I tried them. I am being serious when I say that. my paranoias were persistent until about two or three years after I gave them up. To be honest I doubt that will stop you taking them - my advice is think carefully before you do - you are never quite the same person afterward and regardless of people here who will not care about YOUR state of mind, and will say they are good for you. my advice is - if you are going to do those things be with people you know well. people you trust wholeheartedly and dont put yourself yet in a position other than that till you know if they suit you. LSD especially is not a drug you take lightly. I have seen many friends go through bad times for weeks after a heavy trip. LSD will last for 12 - 15 hours of complete and utter insanity and I mean mental incoherence on a scale you cant imagine yet - mixed visual and audio signals so you can smell colour etc. Seeing people you know in everyone you look at that is a stranger etc - making absolutely no sense at what people say to you but wishing they understood you etc.. looking at money and not understanding its concept. It is in effect a very heavy schizophrenia that you endure while on LSD but can be fun and very funny. Please take my advice and be with people you know and trust and first of all try to be with someone who is tripping while you are not so that you can see what it does to them first Mushrooms are lighter trips but they can be extremely unmaneagaqble in high doses and if someone went out and picked a wrong mushroom, well I have seen people in a bad way through that - otherwise if you trust the judgement of those around you shrooms can be fun and light but be safe and dont trip too hard at first The people around you are of paramount importance if you are ill at ease with anyone you trip with then you will suffer heavy paranoias about them during the trip, and dont forget it will take a day or two after to feel completely ok
Through recreational spiritual use of both, I've had more bad trips on Shrooms than I have with acid. I seem to enjoy acid every time I take it, but with shrooms it's like shaking a dice and hoping your number comes out.
Hey wow you said it ! Thats how I felt about Acid - that really was a game of russian Roullette for me - Of the two mushrooms gave me greater spiritual feelings - acid made me realise the total complexity and how finely tuned our brains aqre when in a normal state - to see the insanity of acid is fascinating - to see ythe world on mushrooms is bliss for me but like the previous poster indicates its different for everyone. I once saw my hand covered in fur like a werewolf on acid until I started laughing manically the next second and then went outside and saw infinity in the shell of a snail
That is wonderful advice. Thank you so much. No, I wasn't planning on tripping hard...actually, I've only wanted to have a mild trip. Nothing too intense. My mind is already out there. I have no desire to push it too far. I just want to go to the next level a bit. I'm looking for something more spiritual, rather than to be fun and recreational. I am a very cautious person. I wouldn't dream of using any drug(with the exception of marijuana) alone, without someone to be there in case something goes wrong. I know how important the environment is to preventing a bad experience. I have been researching psychedelic drugs for a few years-the chemistry, many, many people's differente experiences...I've talked to people while they have been on acid. But I am yet to come across someone with a mental disorder who has used a drug such as LSD or shrooms. & I also haven't actually been there with someone while they were on a psychedelic drug. I am definetely planning on waiting a few more years...I am 17 years old right now. But thank you...what would a mild trip be like? Everyone who I've come across has taken LSD or shrooms in large quantities to have a hard trip, or combined it with a bunch of other drugs. I think I'm the only one out there who is interested in something small...
can I just say that as you are only 16 your brain and mind is still developing and I urge you to wait a few years at least before you pursue psychedelics - These drugs have an effect that will last forever - so research your subkject dont just take my word. Your brain and mind are the most complex things we know of that exist ok ! Your brain is singularly the most complex organism in the universe that we know of. now you are very young and your brain hand mind is still reaching its full complexity -and its dangerous to put psychedelic drugs into a young brain concerning dosages etc well - with acid you trip and thats it - its hard to regulate the dose as basicaly you are geting that feeling from precisely 3 molecules of LSD that is all you need for a trip so you have a trip or you dont. theres all sorts out there - microdots - very strong - upto 20 hours trip - blotters (paper or card) 10 - 14 hours trip - never done liquid LSD but hears its a big trip One blotter is enough - two will make you go places you never thought were there and any moree than that - you leave the planet behind for a few days. Microdots - never take more than 1 - 2 will blow your head off With mushrooms - the UK variety I would say 30 - 40 shrooms is light 40 -70 medium 70 and above - quite harsh 100 - 300 not on the same planet you were before you took them those quantities per person Shrooms is good in small doses but if you make tea with the juice it tastes vile - but its the best way - a lot of people throw up on it. but the trip is beautiful - you may want to try a low dose and if you want more - d some a few hours later To be honest with you, if you are only sixteen, I would say wait a while longer its really not worth it at your age. I never even took these things till I was 22 and I'm glad - because you sort of get swept along by the drug culture and its hard to break out of the excitement of living to trip (as I did for many years). Dont get swept along with it - huh? Ecuse my language but a lot of bullshit is talked about the spirituality of psychedelic drugs, and you are going to find in the end that you are the source of spirituality, not the drugs - you will think about spiritual things on drugs but realise you think about them more clearly when not on drugs. The most spiritual and enlightening drug I used was Ecstacy and that is spirituality and love in one drug with a trip very much better than shrooms and LSD I used to mix shrooms with Ecstacy and that is the most beautiful combo. This is not advice to do this yourself because as ever the advice is - I've been stupid with my drug use. I got too far down that route and it takes a long time to climb back up. But yeah I saw and did some things that were worth seeing and feeling on drugs
I don't know about this. I'll agree with you that 99% of the stuff you come up with while high turns out to be bunk when you come back down, but in my experience, there is a deeper spirituality to these experiences than all this bunk. The spiritual aspect of psychedelic experiences, to me, is having a richer plethora of perspetives on reality in your repertoire than someone who has never touched a drug. For the devote abstainer, there is only one persespective on reality - the sober one - and that perspective is THE perspective. Everything else is just a bunch of hippie mumbo-jumbo. But to the user, especially someone who has tried a wide variety of drugs, he/she has a wide variety of perspectives to use in looking at reality. For me, the main difference between all these perspectives is really how consciousness relates to reality, and the one persistent insight that has always held true is that our consciousness defines reality for us. This is an insight that is hard to come by in the abstainer. This insight is what my spirituality is based on. BTW, Autumns, have you ever tried marijuana? It sounds to me like you've tried something, and I'm guessing it's weed, and you're curious about other things. Have you ever gotten paranoid on weed? If you're paranoid to begin with, then my straight no-bull-shit answer to your question is yes - you do stand a higher chance of having a bad trip than someone who isn't naturally paranoid. I agree with Columbo - proceed with caution... and wait 'till college .
More than likely your 'perma-paranoia' will result in a "bad trip" at least once. I have only had one bad trip, and it was with mushrooms. Mescaline and acid are pretty fail safe in my book. I would say to experiment in low doses, and even if a bad trip occurs, it could be to your advantage in the long run. I have learned from EVERY trip. I'm not promoting it, but I'm not denying it either.
Domino effect, perhaps...In my first post where I stated my age I made a typo, and hit 6 instead of 7. But I edited once I realized everyone was saying "Don't do it, you're 16". & thus people continued to say I'm 16. Anyways, how are you girl? Did you get my last pm? Everything okay?
I've never tried nothing , LSD was the only thing I was curious about. One night (or I'd better say one morning) at a beach party some spanish guy offered me liquid LSD. The ampoule containing it was actually sporting the label of a common purgative (Guttalax (R)) . I politely refused... that episode, along with reading this forum , destroyed forever my curiosity about drugs . I'm decided, I'll be patient and wait until I'm grown naturally and spontaneously schizophrenic, which should happen within the year to come
Columbo's advice is very good, and obviously based on experience. If you are so often paranoid (as you say), that could point to a lack of self esteem. Acid is like a very intense confrontation with a mirror, and if you don't like what you see in that mirror, it could result in a sustained panic attack. If that happens, the help of those trusted friends Columbo mentions will be very important. You should plan your trip in a safe area away from strangers, like a large rural area or a quiet beach with few people except your trip guides, who should be reliable adults, preferably of the same gender as you. The guides should have reliable transportation home for you (or wherever you feel safest, possibly a guide's home) at nightfall. In the psychedelic state, your perceptions may not be accurate. For example, once I was asked to leave Golden Gate Park in San Francisco by the police, because it was midnight and the park closes to the public at that time. However, I ignored them because I felt I was on a different plane of existence and couldn't be touched by them. I was wrong. I should never have been tripping in a city park by myself at night. Or, something fairly normal may be horrifying. Someone is eating fried chicken, and you look at him and see him tearing with his teeth at the bones of this dead bird, and it's horrible, and you panic off into left field somewhere. Or, as Columbo warns, you have flashbacks. You're washing the dishes or something two weeks later and the police start beaming into your mind (so you think) at headquarters. And on and on. Enjoy yourself, but be careful. Acid is a restricted dangerous drug for a reason.
Honestly with psyhedelics you wont get paranoid, if you smoke some crack though then yes you'll get paranoid.

"Like oral, you can take her down and have her give head to units 28 and 37. Then bring her down to West Station and pass her around the night shift. Then you can off her." "38, Roger that, Base, over and out."
