I wished to become a psychoanalyst not long time ago.
I enjoyed reading and learning about it.
It's interesting trying to understand, analyse and help people.
    But I won't do it.
Because psychoanalysis is not taken seriously these days.
They say Freud is dead... it's been so since the 90s...

So why not try and do psychology? you'll be able to "understand, analyse and help people" maybe just not using psychoanalysis, and if there are any advances you'd find out about it aswell...

their are still pyschoanylisis, and personally i think many of his ideas aren't that far off base, but if you could combine some of his practics into modern pyschology you could staisfy a lot of needs

Talking to the opposite sex is a waste of time. Most of them are uninteresting or stupid.

What makes you think anything happened along the way? It's only my opinion, the way I see the world.

Shrug. If you say so. I think counselling is alive and well and most practising therapists are Freudian. A recent empirical study showed that Freudian 'talking cure' therapy was as effective as any other type in treating depression. And, bottom line, if you believe it and you think it will help people, why not do it?

Opinions usually have some R/L basis.
They don't just appear outta thin air... or do they?

I guess so. Maybe it has its roots deep in my subconscious. But it will take time to make it reach the surface. So are you ready for a psychoanalytic session?
