does anybody else here listen to psychobilly? if so, what's your favorite band? i'd have to say mine's Demented Are Go!.
Wait... I thought the genre of psychobilly was to rockabilly, as the genre of Oy! is to Ska? Basically the skinhead's version because people don't want to be associated with fucking skinheads. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
what u said doesn't make too much sense to me, but i'll try to answer it. rockabilly and psychobilly are alike, but different enough to be two diff genres. psychobilly's faster, w/ more of a hard edge.
and Oi has nothing to do with Ska at all! Oi is skinhead punk that sort of sounds rather uninspired. ska was bands like the specials reviving 60s jamaican music. psychobilly...hmmm...i like the cramps. dunno if Gun Club count? The Meteors are good too. and Guana Bats, King Kurt. Whats that compilation called which had all those bands on?
psychobilly i think is also music which is connected to goth. i think its goth music for dudes who arnt wimps. i think gothic bands like alien sex fiend might fit in with it too.

Whoa whoa whoa... Oi is anti facist punk. I have no clue where you got the idea that it was FOR skinheads. In an ironic twist though many Oi bands draw skin crowds. I like pychobilly when Ican get it. I like the classic Zombie though
Say Wha? Oi is anti-skinhead? I checked my Am-pop-sic (American Popular Music) book and it's telling me Oy is the skinhead's take on it. It's spelled "Oy" not "Oi"... maybe we're talking of two different genre's alltogether. The book is kinda off in some parts but I know it isn't THAT off.

Nekromantix and Tiger Army are the only ones that jump to mind, though to some TA may not be considered psychobilly, I still like em.
