Psychosis?

Hi. I'm taking LSD for the first time saturday. I have these small, plain white rectangular hits that aren't really supposed to be strong, so my dealer told me to take two. The only problem is, I'm afraid that if I take LSD my ongoing depression will worsen. At the moment I take anxiety and anti-depressents. I've been diagnosed with chronic depression and generalized anxiety disorder, but as long as I take my meds I'm usually fine. There is no known history of Schizophrenia or Bipolar disorder in my family, just depression. My question is rather the LSD can cause Schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder to randomly appear, even without a history. Also, is my depression likely to worsen, even while taking anti-depressants?

 

don't worry about that man, especially for a first time. I have friends who claim that lsd has changed their lives. Can't comment on that but that's their opinion. YOu won't lapse into manic depression cause you take 2 hits. YOu said your doing it saturday. I hope your storing the doses right so they'll be good for then. No Light, No heat, and as little air exposure as possible. Have fun

Miracles happen every day. It wouldn't suprise me that you go over your depression by taking lsd. You won't be the first one to do that. So why not asking yourself will it help you to go over it rather than will it worsen it. Stress, problems, depresion, insanity.... it is all created by you.

 

Alright, thanks, everyone! I'm storing it under my dresser with an ice pack over it. Plus, my room is cold anyway because it's in a basement. I have it in a ziplock bag with as little air as I could manage. I'm determined to make this an experience that lets me see the beautiful side of life instead of the negative.

Have you done any psychedelics before? Or is this the first?

 

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANTI DEPRESSENTS THE SAME DAY YOU FRY! we had a friend that did that and he had a seizure. just so you know. other than that it will probably help you a lot.. it more or less cured my borderline personality disorder and my borfriends depression.. there is a very low chance that it will make you worse.

but if you have a lot on your plate i would wait a while. you dont wanna be stressed out when you fry... thats a sure fire way to have a bad trip.. i have seen it time and time again. but im also the type of person that considers bad trips to be necessary in the discovery of ones self thru hallucinogens... they really tell you whats really going on in your mind most of the time. like my fiance had a bad trip not that long ago where he thought there were cops surrounding the house and he had to go to jail. lol. at the time he'd had a warrant for nearly a year... go figure. lol. shit happens. but every one i have ever seen freak out was a better person for it later... lol.

and you dont need an ice pack.. lol... water will make it decompose. just keep it out of the light and heat and air... thats all.

 

SSRI's are also notorious for canceling out the effects almost entirely.

Correction, chlorinated water will cause LSD to turn over, pure water will not. As long as it isnt abundant in oxygen.

No problem. LSD is soluable in most liquid, alcohol is the best. Remember the people used to dose people drinks at concerts and whatnot?

well the ice pack isn't directly on it, but I supposed I'll remove it anyway lol. No, I've never taken any psychadelics before, even though I've taking enough Ambien to make me hallucinate. Other than that I've done MDMA, pot, CCCs, and numerous benzos and other pills, so this will be entirely new.

 

I dont know if you know but CCC can kill you. there is so much extra shit in it... if your gonna do dex either learn to extract it from Robo (its cake we learned how to do it when i was 16 and were masters at it less than 3 months later) the extraction method is really easy and i could send you a detailed report if you want one. also there is dexalone... lol. same dosage as CCC but with nothing but DXM in it.

In my humble opinion, LSD sounds like a terrible idea for you. If you are on medication, either you are unstable mentally (most likely the case), you believe you are unstable mentally, or, at the very least, someone else thinks you are unstable mentally. This is the absolute worst possible mindset with which to enter an LSD trip. Of course, you could take it and have a blast and "see the light" and all of that other bullshit. But, considering you have an anxiety disorder, I think it's much more likely that you're going to end up cowering in a corner. Who knows. Best of luck, and if you do decide to take it, just remember that it's all in your head.

 

It can cause schizophrenia, yes, which is why I don't take hallucinogens because I have depression and anxiety as you do. If you're mentally ill it's a very bad idea - they give antipsychotics to people who are tripping and a danger to themselves and others - they use the old-school antipsychs like Haldol. It's not worth the risk in my opinion. Once you develop schizophrenia or BPD it usually stays for life which is why it's SO IMPORTANT to prevent it from occurring in the first place!

 

I don't pretend to have much knowledge on the subject of schizophrenia so correct me if im wrong but isnt this a condition which if a person has, will manifest itself sooner or later regardless of anything else?

 

anything that can change your mind can change your mind in any way
if your mind has weaknesses and requires medications be careful what u medicate with.

why do ppl think halucinations are good for every1? for some ppl halucinating can trigger a halucinary world

im in agreement with yourt history your lil risky your takin the opinion of 17 to 19 year old drug users (no offence) drug users will always say just do it no matter what the drug of choice they'll just tell ya to go sahead and try it

ive used alot alotta ppl used alot not alotta ppl went insane some ppl will be insane no matter what but some ppl will not be better off from tripping some will
but to just say go for it u might be cured by it is pretty irrisponcible of a 17 year old to say gamble with your mind it may pay off it may not

as well as chloriphenarimine, gueifenisin and acetaminaphin... in fairly large doses... its REALLY fucking bad form you... one of my friends did so much CCC that they ended up in the hospital with kidney problems...

@ my highschool a shit load of 10th graders were giving away boxes of ccc to people and telling them to take the whole box... 8 kids ended up in the hospital.. its bad shit,
