I don't think the police are going to waste their time breaking up wedding ceremonies between 2 men or legitimate business agreements which happen to be exactly the same as a prenuptial agreements provided by our indiscriminating meritocratic innovative financial services.

Even though pushing for the same tax rights is justified, it's not really pushing for "gay marriage". I get the impression certain people just like to stir up a shit storm by trolling religious people and going "LOL GAY MARRIAGE", instead of keeping this as a simple tax reform.

Besides the whole tax breaks for couples thing is evil, what about people who don't want to get married? Incentives for couples with kids to stay together maybe, but for people who just dont want to marry?

I've never understood the entire tax breaks for married people that they have in the US. What is the difference? There are no tax breaks for married people in Canada, but we don't get to claim our interest on a morgage either. We do have tax breaks for dependants but those apply even if you are not married. Maybe it is to due to the inheretance taxes in the US, but we don't have those here either.

So the movement is all about charging gays more for taxes, not biblical mandates?

It's also about health and death benefits and legal entitlements.

But yeah, people just hate gays, religion is a cover.

Well you should make it clear that gays are going to get married whether they like it or not and that you are fighting for the same tax rights.

If all you intend to do is go "BBBBBAAAAWWW, SOME RELIGIONS DONT LIKE GAY PPL" you are just abusing a civil rights movement because you are upset by some bullies.

You cannot call it being "upset by some bullies" when a state as large and populous as California bans gay marriage. That's institutional discrimination.

People need to get over the fact that the bible isn't the say all and end all. It is based on a set of morals from around 2000-6000 years ago. Do you believe adultery should be punished by stoning people to death?

Religious FREAKS take the bible's word for what they believe and disregard the rest. What about Ursary? People believe that in this worlds society that interest is normal BUT is still frowned appon by Jesus. Get over your hatred, this is not 2000 years ago and if you believe it is then follow the bible to the word. Stop picking and choseing.

Zoomie, think, distinguish between gay marriage and equal tax rights.

Gays can already get married. Cops aren't going to break up gay wedding ceremonies or arrest 2 gay people for saying they are married.

Gays don't get equal tax rights. By mixing up equal tax rights with gay marriage you just provoke more religious opponents to vote against it.

DaveHT, good point, but not all christians are nuts.

Piney, I agree. There are too many people like Zoomie who can't look at the situation rationally and end up wasting their effort.
