good morning...anyone ever replace baffle plates on an old stove?.....gonna cost me 140 for the plates and 120 for the service call

 

wood stove?

dont remember baffle plates but i know my dad welded firebox cracks a few times


if its bottom plates change them yourself...its easy...and dont burn wood with nails...the nails will slice thru the cast iron and ruin the new ones too

 

What's a baffle plate?

 

plates that slow the outflow and transfer more of the heat to the stove instead of having it all go out the chimney
