Highly recommend reading meangreans growing technique page on sog and scrogg. I always have a net about 18 inches above my plants then carefully bend them training them in an out of the net as they grow taller. As the plants are now horizontal the whole plant gets maximum light instead of just the top. After they have been in flowering about a week let them grow straight up. Depending on your strain colas are usually about two feet long . Obviously you can grow taller buds but at this height the light can easly reach all of your cola. This results in infinetly more super fat colas .Do try this method ive found especially when space is tight it can dramatically increase yor yeild.

So when you're training for a ScrOG setup, you train the plants to kind of weave through the net? I'm not really sure how this works, because most pictures I've seen of these setups usually have a fair amount of bud actually on top of the net, rather than woven into it...
