Ok my mom doesnt really know anything about dreads. So i keep telling her that i need a residue free shampoo. Then shes always like just use this stuff i got called TRESemme Which im really thinking that this stuff you cant wash our hair with. So could some one please explain why so i can show her she keeps bugging me. And if im wrong i dout i am tho. PLz say so. She thinks jst cause TRESemme makes you hair ruff that its good for my dreads. O and some one said you can use sunlight dish deturgent.??? And if you know of anything i can buy at local store that i can buy real quick so i can do a wash
use the tresemme shampoo but not the conditioner, it should be fine. when i had dreads i used knotty boy dread shampoo but i dont think it was that good someone on here uses herbal essences shampoo i think..
good ol doctor bronners 18 in 1 magic soaps duluted 12-1 tresseme never used it but id guess its resiuey will leave behind a film u dont want..and its probly got sulfates and crap..u want somethung as natutral as can be dr b's is probly the purest..but if yuoir hairs oily it may not be the best chice i wouldnt use dish soap u can also use baking sida inwater with lil lemon juivce sea saly and teatree oil or mix your oewn baking soda based concoction it wont lather..but just dump it on wait as long as iu can stand to then rince it out
I would say as a general rule try not use anything that has that 'normal shampoo' smell, that chemically smell. Find stuff that is more natural smelling, very little or no scent at all. dont use anything you see in magazines or on tv.
the residue is some form of 'cone (dimethicone is the most common) which is silicone=slippery. read the labels, and really, step up and pick out your own freaking shampoo, K? but sine you might be stuck using what she bought, use a dilute vinegar rinse to get rid of 'coney buildup.
Wow so can i just go to the store an find somthing tat says no residue. an use it can it be that simple cause i dont have no sea salt unless i can just mix salt an water together but i def dont have tea tree i dont even no what that is
tea tree oil its the strongest anticepyic known to man plus helps with dandruf it also repels (but doesnt kill once infected) lice and maybe ticks as well u dont want plain table salytt that has iodine u want sea salt..or kosher salt baking soda and lemmin jiice this doesnt make a shampoo as u know it but a deep clease, it wont lather at all so u dont really wash your hait with it as much as dump it on let it soak till the itchu burny feelings too extremne to handle then rince out alternativ;ley get dr bronners liquid dilute it 12 times as much water as soap..
I think when I first stopped brushing my hair I used umm Neutrogena Clarifying Residue Free or something. I don't remember the exact name but it's slightly green and comes in a clear bottle. But I think Dr. Bronner's is the best. They sell it at GNC, Whole Foods, and other natural foods places.
