Whats so wrong with drinking dairy milk? Is it just because the give the cows all sorts of crap or is there something else?
There really isn't much wrong with it. There are a lot of hormones added now days but there are dairy farmers who don't give their cows that stuff so if you know where to look you could find natural milk. To much milk can be a problem but than again to little can be a problem for some people too. But thats how almost everything is, to much of anything is bad just like to little is.
cows milk is for baby cows my mate always says to me 'i wonder who the very first person who decided it would be a good idea to drink the milk from a cows tittie..what was he thinking..hmm.
Hey.You might try checking out www.milksucks.com, it's got some information on the first page that might answer some of your questions, better than I can. I've been happily vegan for a few years now. ^_^ Peace!
Milk is SPECIES SPECIFIC and meant for growing infants and young mammals. What that means is that an animal is NOT supposed to, and is not designed to consume milk from an OTHER ANIMAL. Cow's milk is for growing cows. Otters milk is for growing otters. Squirrel milk is for growing squirrels. And human milk (and human milk alone) is for growing humans. If the milk was not made by a member of your species, or if you are done growing, you should not consume it. It was NOT meant for you.
Milk is good for you, in many ways. There is nothing wrong with drinking cow milk. Milk being "SPECIES SPECIFIC" is not, as far as I know, backed up by serious scientific research. Maybe it's only a moral issue. However, milk in today's world is not just milk from a cow, but milk from a milk-factory, which means that it's nearly poison. Very unhealthy stuff, that can cause many problems. Real milk is milk you can make cream or yogurt out of. This milk we get these days will just go bad if you try.
what? i make yogurt out of grocery store cow milk all the time. it seems to work just fine. ideally, i'd like to use raw milk... but that's hard to get.
well, I don't know, maybe I'm thinking of a different type of yogurt (it's just the closest english word I know for what I'm talking about). Or maybe the milk you get where you live is different.
i wonder if you're thinking about clabbered milk http://www.seedsofhealth.co.uk/articles/milk_history_evolution.shtml culturing milk makes it easier to digest and also introduces probiotics into the gut.
I thought I was lactose intolerant for many years. To cut a long story short it turns out that low fat milk is very bad for me.These days I am buying (about 1L a week) full-cream biodynamic unhomgenised milk.
Cow's milk is the perfect food.............. for baby cows. I drink about one cup of milk a year, I stopped sometime in my teens. I would think that organic unpasteurized whole Jersey cow's milk would not be bad, other than being so rich.......I imagine it is a healthy thing to drink, if you aren't watching the calories. Normal, everyday non-organic, pasteurized, Holstein cow's milk, whether skim, homo, 2%, whatever,....with all the anti biotics, the bgh, the traces of pesticides, herbicides, etc in it. Retch, yuck, I think that is harder to say is good for you. I drank it my whole childhood though, lots of it, and look what it did to me.
Just a few primer things to read about why milk meant for baby cows (who almost never get any anymore) shouldn't be drunk by adult, or baby humans. How cow’s milk damages bones http://www.4.waisays.com/ Why cow’s milk is SO bad for humans, with references http://www.drlam.com/A3R_brief_in_doc_format/print/2003-No2-Milk.htm Why “Milk Sucks” http://www.milksucks.com/index2.html Including links to asthma, ovarian cancer, colon illnesses ect
