By the power vested in me as a member of Hip Forums. I hereby proclaim that everyone who read's this thread must go out this coming week and perform at least one kind gesture for a friend or total stranger. Why? Because random act's of kindness help to define who we are as a people. Then, post in this thread what you did to fulfill this pledge. Now, Boogie Children.

Sadly, this thread has next to no posts.....as yet. :( Let's hope it catches on. :)

I recently helped about 50 disabled actors at an audition for the BBC. It involved registring them, finding sign interpreters for the deaf, braille scripts for the blind, taking polaroids of them, pairing them off with the right scripts, taking them to the audition panel, but most of all it meant encouraging them that we were there NOT to judge them on their disability, but themselves and their acting.

They ALL had big, big hearts, and it was very difficult to have tell half of them that we wouldn't need to see them anymore that day. However, they all had a great day, and their appreciation was like pure gold. It is rare that I have ever done anything so worthwhile, and put into perspective my own struggles at auditions.

    All noble act's indeed.

On Saturday,I took my mother and son shopping and then out to lunch.

On Sunday,I took my son's new car out to be washed and made him his favorite meal consisting of spaghetti with spicy Italian sausage green peppers, onions and fresh baked Italian bread. After I did his taxes for him.

Hell no, Peanuts is my brother.

I'm just kidding. I always try to treat people respectfully. That is if they don't consider kindness a weakness to manipulate or use or take advantage of.

    Know what I mean everybody?

Small kindnesses like letting a car into a lane...letting someone go ahead of you inna line. Little unextrodinary things go along way at times. Makes me feel good that I helped someone elses day be a lil smoother too.

Not to be egocentric, but letting people go ahead of you keeps you from being so wound up too.

ooooooooook, lol...... it rarely winds me up being inna line at the grocery store when I'm in the lane I need to be in but if i see someone that has even 20 items to my cartful, I will usually let em slide thru. They are the ones that usually look like they are stressing it.

Well, I might not look it and old ladies are usually are astonished, but like in a supermarket if I see someone wanting something off the top shelf I'll always offer and get it for them etc :) . I am from the old school of politeness lol.

I gave a client, at no charge, a nearly one hour phone consultation yesterday. Her baby went on a nursing strike and she was beside herself. I could have made a housecall, and charged her, but we just talked. I do this a lot, but it seemed like she really needed the support right away. She said she felt so much better.

I hope her baby goes back to the breast, too. Hope to hear from her, soon.

No doubt!! How sweet too. For some women breastfeeding is so stressful and not very well supported alot of times by family members.

Well, I serve the blind. Five days a week. It's my job. I hope that counts.

I'm feeding my friend's cats this weekend,
and on Sunday I am volunteering to feed the homeless at L.A.'s Midnight Mission.

    Thank You all Very,Very Much.

Many thanks to all the kind folk's who have given freely of there time, positive energy, and perhaps even money in the name of helping one another in the last week. You have warmed my heart;with your kindness, postive deeds and generosity. Now keep the response's coming. I would like to think were just getting warmed up. Now,let's show the others who come here just to read about our efforts what being Hip really means.
