Just back from the cemetery. I planted some daffodils for Mom. We are expecting a freeze over the weekend. They are predicting 29F degrees come Saturday.

 

dog ripped a dewclaw....looks messy but I think he will be ok....doesn't seem to be bothering him.....I cleaned it up best I could.....i'll leave it today and keep an eye on it

 

Gotta get out and cut some firewood before the rain hits later today... Gonna need it by the end of the week.


Hope the dog is okay, that's gotta hurt.

 

has the dewclaw injury still bleeding or has it stopped. trouble is close to the artery, but if no artery torn it will lick it and heal just fine. keep dog hydrated with water. and LOL try to keep dog away from soil and dirt for a few days.. knowing your dog., that might be a challenge..

 

Had to tarp what firewood I got down to the splitter... Still needs sized, split, and stacked. Rain was pleasant to work in for a change. Most of what I brought in/took down was going to fall on the driveway... Still some out there to bring in that I took down today.



Every time I look around there's more dead trees.

Welfare here is a joke. After declaring the birth of my son, all they could do was to cut my cheque and my husband's cause we don't qualify as single adults no more since the baby is born. Now, just a few days before rent and bills are due, we have to open a new file as a family and go through the whole process again... I hope we'll get that money ASAP or we'll be in shit.

On a more joyful note, when coming back from the welfare office I decided to drop at the local womens centre to show off my son to my friends. They all thought he was adorable and super calm for a 3 weeks old. /proud mom mode on

 

Yup, there are some pretty fucked up things about the Canadian welfare system. At least you get subsidized childcare in Quebec!

had to start a fire right quick this morning.....chilly one....

 

I'm holding off on the fire... I'll need the wood later this week.

It wasn't...but he offered me a price that decided me it was.
So,he's now got my old car...I have a new [to me] one...
