Random testing for school.

I have been hearing lately that my highschool is planning on randomly testing students next year. The ignorant fucks think they will have the school completely drug free by 2009. The school system just spent a shitload of money on an astro turf football field, and now they will waste more money on random drug tests. I can't believe they can get away with this bullshit.

 

hmm i dont think they really can do that. i think if you're involved in extracurricular activites or sports or watever they can but if not i dont think they have any right to do it. ahh that would really suck if they could and did tho.

 

the school im going to next year (privte school) tests students randomly, i found out a week ago. Shit! going from a school with no weed to a school that tests for weed. argh. i never got to try it. o well, guess i have to wait til next summer.-david

 

I'd bet god money that they didn't spend half the money that they did on the football field and the drug testing on actually teaching the kids. My school is just as messed up.

 

I had thought originally that the drug testing would start in 2009 (or maybe it was 2007, I don't know) when they planned to have the school "drug free". This is an unpleasant surprise. Even if they aren't technically allowed to do this, they will get away with it. Who, in conservative Indiana, would care to try to stop them? It is a public school by the way.

 

I wouldnt give a shit, they can try to make me piss in a cup, I wont do it. and if I do, I dont give a shit if I have THC in my body, I would only be freaked if I had meth or crack of sumthin in my body.

 

They used to have "drug busts" at my school every year before christmas break, march break, 420, and may 2-4. They would announce on the intercom that all teachers were to lock their doors and not let anyone leave the room for the next 30 mins, and they would let these dogs lose in the hall ways to go on a rampage. So many of my friends got busted for dope it was actually really sad.....fuck i hate copssssssssssss

random drug testing for students that arent in any extracurricular activities would be ruled unconstitutional if taken to court. this is an invasion of privacy, and you need to fight it. gather a bunch of students and start a big protest in your school. if they want to piss test you, burn their books. fight fire with fire, if they are going to invade your privacy, take pictures of teachers watching porno or having sex with students, embarrassing stuff like that, and use those as blackmail. i think the only way to make a school change into what the kids want would be to really embarrass the school. i havent tried it but it sounds like it could work.

 

That's true; random UAs issued by a school are unconstitutional. I would refuse to submit to such an invasion on my privacy; just like I would refuse a search by a cop after being pulled over or being somewhere questionable at a questionable time. Even if I didn't have anything illegal in my car/on me.

and if they had a urine test for everyone at school id piss in the little cup and run up to the person collectiing the pee, throw my sample in his/her face, scream "you can take our lives but you can never take our freedom" and run out of theschool

 

They do "lock downs" at my school. No is aloud to leave their classrooms and the dogs come in. I don't think it's that efficent because I know people who got bye with eigths in their pockets.

 

i agree, who the fuck brings that shit to school....but my friends even got busted for resen, or the little bits that dropped out into a cigarette pack...and were either expelled or suspended. My one buddy even had just crumbs in his pocket, and they found it and suspended him for a week. It makes me sickkkkk

 

We have lockdowns so the drug dogs can sniff lockers twice a year.

 

they may be able to if u do sports for the school, but i dont think they would have the right to just test you if you refuse

 

Alright, heres how it works. Any student in any activities (band, sports) is tested. Also, any student who DRIVES TO SCHOOL is tested. Fuck, I'm a senior, I don't want to ride the bus with a bunch of middle school kids.

He would be referring to me and some of my friends I believe. I smoke pot! I'm on the road to addiction! Fuck, that guy was a friend. It makes me sick to hear that he supports this bullshit.

 

wtf, there testing kids who drive to school? what the hell is that. fuck that, just park on public streets. don't park on there property.

 

Well, theres the YMCA down the street. I think the cops who watch the school drivers for speeders and seatbelts check that shit though to make sure no kids are parking there and walking to school. I could park in a neighborhood, but I would be forced to park in front of somebody's house. People around here are cold and mostly keep to themselves, and would not hesitate to call the cops because there is a car they don't own parked in front of their house. There is one thing - I have a teachers parking pass. My mom used to work at the school, and the car she had at that time now belongs to me, along with the pass. I'm sure somebody would notice a student parking in the faculty lot every day though. So basically, I'm fucked.

 

I remember back when my brother was in high school a few people in his grade got kicked out of school for having drugs in their car, which happened to be parked in the target parking lot. Then there were some people my freshman year who got kicked out because some mom saw them smoking and called the school. I go to a private school though.
