That's what happens in the first months. My itchies and dandruff stopped after the second month, or even earlier i think.

stop brushing your hair a while in advance so it isnt so weird to adjust in the meantime? I didnt brush my hair for years before getting dreads, just conditioned and finger combed it out. The only time I ever got itchies were when I tried to spray it with salt water, that was insanity, and if its been like a week since I last washed my hair.

Never use wax... it gave me terrible dandruff the first time I tried dreads. This second time I eliminated the wax and I make sure to keep my scalp clean. At first it still itched, but now several months later I hardly itch at all.

wash your hair with baking soda. don't use wax or salt water. dont blow dry your hair. wash with hot water, rinse with cold water (hot water lets moisture into the pores, cold water seals the pores), taco sauce. apply directly to the forehead.

Wow, lol... ok last time i had dreads i had them for about 9 months and got dandruff like crazy after about 3 months. i just let them go after back combing (didnt know better then). and whoever said "do it faggot" needs to rethink their output. :p i don't think it's wise to start doing something if you don't know how to properly take care of it.

but thanks for people who gave advice.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe because a lot of people are against back combing and prefer twist and rip?

No, I meant didn't know better because I think completely natural dreads look way better.

I agree with above statement. If/when I dread again, I will not be doing anything but washing.
