Red Dwarf Characters

Red Dwarf was made, for me, by the interaction between the main characters. They all slotted together so perfectly. So which was your favourite character, and why?

 

Rimmer all the way, with his sarcasm and comments that he comes out with. Absolute quality.

 

I'd like Rimmer a lot more if they'd never made the Brittas Empire. As it is, Rimmer is only good for me as the paper that all the other characters wipe their butts on....

I'd go for Cat, probably on the basis of the episode where they meet the droid that appears to each character as the object of their greatest desires. Lister gets the scummy bird, Rimmer gets the uptight one, and Cat gets himself! That had me in stitches. And of course his Dwayne Dibly alter ego! Also, I think Normal Lovett as the male Holly was fantastic, he really gelled the episodes together. I think they should have cast him as the voice of Marvin in the Hitchikers film....

 

Female Holly coz she's sweet.

 

Kochanski was hot

In my defence she was played by Clare Grogan and Chloe Annett ...

 

Chloe Anette was the fitter of the two easily, but Kochanski was such a crap character....

Does anyone remember the crappy sci fi drama that Chloe Annet was in called Crime Traveller? It was so awful it was fantastic but then the slider still had momentum to bring it back to awful.

"Jeff Slade is a detective who is in trouble with his boss when a stakeout goes wrong. Luckily for him Holly Turner is on hand to help him out. However her methods are unusual and involve a time machine."

 

I'd have to go for Cat, mainly because he just used to make me laugh so much.

 

Wahey, Cat pulls into the lead. We should form a Cat's Protection League....

 

Having said that, I do love the interactions between Rimmer and Ace Rimmer, they're hilarious....
