Ok, today i was laying on the couch, just bored, and my mom comes around and to make fun of my dreads and just to check them out. She looks at them and says some remarks. And then notices my scalp is red. So she tells me that she wants to cut off my dreads, I said no. Then goes about how the dreads are casein' them and i can lose my hair (i believe im going to lose my hair matter of what)... I know dreads can pull on the scalp, and sometimes my dreads do that. Which can cause the redness. Also itching in the areas where the dreads pull can make the scalp even more red. I do itch my scalp, and my dreads do something pull on my scalp and i sometimes pull my dreads (apart or just to check them out). Thats my reasoning... Also my mom told me that it can be some scalp problem (like a sickness of some sort of the skin). Could it be that?
Perhaps your head is sensitive to your shampoo or another hair product. Maybe use gentler products? BTW, you didn't sunburn your head, did you? That would make it red. Sorry I can't be more help. These a just a couple guesses. Hopefully someone else will be more help. Peace and love
well how long have u had ur dreads? because maybe ur head is just getting used to having them??? im not quite sure tho haha
its prolly just your shampoo or other procutes you are using. maybe your allergic to one of your raps? if you have any. i doubt its cause the dreads are pullin the scalp
Are you sure?... Alright Im going to wash my hair ever night now, just in case if its oil build up or anything related to that... Can you actually sun burn your hair if you have your hair cover your head?
Where scalp is exposed, yes it can be sunburned. If your mom is looking between dreads, that may be what she sees. I can't say for sure, though. Peace and love
Really... But it itchs to in some areas... Fuck i think im over reacting, because before this i was "alright"... Now i have to wash my hair with some kind of tea...
do you wear your dreads up? sometimes if your dreads are heavy then they can pull which may cause redness. i would keep the dreads down and let them move freely. dreads are extra heavy when they are wet. maybe massaging your scalp with lavender oil?
