What religion (if any) were you brought up with? Do you still have the same religious beliefs as your fam or have they changed? (and if they have, what was your family's reaction?)
my mom insists that i'm catholic. she knows i don't go to church, but she refuses to accept that it's because i don't believe in any of it.
My mum was (is?) catholic, my dad is... I'm not sure. Probably unreligionist. We were encouraged to go to church on Christmas, but we never did. My parents weren't really bothered. So long as we're "good people" what does it matter? EDIT: Two things I want to point out. I'minmyunderwear, I'mstalkingyou. And this is my 666 post In a religion thread
Roman Catholic; during the heady days when the priests had one hand on the bible and the other down the pants of the nearest altar boy :toetap05: Hotwater
Heathen, born and raised. I like the non-theistic religions, but I would never follow them, or any religion, religiously.
Well, my parents are/were Catholic, and I was baptized in a Catholic church, but me and my parents haven't been to church since I was like 5. Today, neither of my parents have anything to do with religion, and I certainly don't. The Catholic church especially disgusts me. The relationship I have with religion is much like the one oil has with water.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Shakers My Grandfather use to bring me to this church when I was young.
Catholic but I started questioning it in grade 7 and the church didn't allow me to be confirmed Now I am mostly atheist with a slight touch of agnostic And against religion for the most part
i was raised without religion. thank god for that religion is for inbreds and feeble minds. god is so sheeple
I was raised in a secular family. In other words I was raised to be tolerant, ethical and materialistic and not to think too much about abstract issues like "Why am I here?" and "Does God exist?". My sister and I experimented with a few different religions in our teens, My sister is still a born again christian and I have given up on religion. My parents have never intruded upon our personal beliefs except to ensure that we're tolerant of others. I consider myself lucky to have such tolerant parents although I wish they had given me at least some philosophical guidance in my youth so I wouldn't have to turn to religion and pop culture for all the answers.
I go to a Catholic school but i don't buy into any of it i just go there because it's a good school, a couple of years ago i decided i wanted to be a pagan and i turned Veg but my school freaked out and gave me heaps of detentions (with dumb little excuses) in which i would have to copy things out from the bible. My parents raised me and my Brother without religion although my mum practises a branch of low core Buddhism and we have always been encouraged to question religions until we found the one that was right for us.
