Does anything happen if you don't rinse after spraying or soaking your hair? (I use salt, lemon and tea tree oil mixture and spray them till their soaked) I let it dry before rinsing again but sometimes I forget too. Is it a must do thing?

    Just out of curiosity :)

i dont really know the long term effects that salt crystals will have on your hair if they sit for a while. but i know salt is a corrosive, which cant be good either way. I'm guessing it can make your hair brittle. I've never experienced anything of the sort so i am not sure. As for short term effects, maybe an itchy scalp.

It might dry out your hair bigtime or give you an insanely itchy scalp.

well i used to use the dreadhead salt spray after i showered as instructions say.
well the difference that ive noticed now that i dont use it is i can go longer without my hair getting itchy and feeling "residuish". after 3 days i used to feel like i had to wash my hair. but now its more like every 5 days.

sometimes i use my seasalt spray before i go to bed and wash it the next morn... i feel like it locks better. ive never thought about the negative effects... but i keep my dreads fairly good and make sure they arent too brittle.
