So I have arly bad cut right next to the left side of my eye. It was doing fine yesterday but last night it swelled up so bad I can just barely open my left eye. Do infectins take care of themselves or no? And yes i used peroxide and antibiotic ointment and everything
If it is that close to your eye I would go to a doctor. No reason risking an infection moving into your eye. And on a side note Hydrogen peroxide should only be used in a case where nothing else is available. Studies have shown that peroxide kills the antibodies in and around a cut along with the bacteria, thus slowing healing.
I would try tea tree oil, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea if it's so close to your eye.. but tea tree will kill the bad bacteria
Peroxide also kills healthy skin cells......according to a doctor I talked to once. I would go with a tea bag to get the swelling down. I heard that works.
