Little creepy, but are youtube and google really accurate? I mean, I've googled (actually yahoo-ed) all of the candidates at one point... not one more than the others. It doesn't take into account the fact that some people just want to read up on them, not necessarily "I want to vote for this person and I'm going to look them up because that's how gung-ho I am!" I don't know about this. Could be, but something feels off... Nevertheless, I will be posting it on my livejournal and sharing it around. Interesting find!
it's not necessarily the votes that are surprising about ron paul, because they're not. but its just that the charts that this guy in the video shows say that the other candidates [i.e. hilary, obama, mccain] have gotten more popular, at least on the internet, solely because of media coverage. but ron paul, on the other hand, has gotten just as many or more popularity on the web at certain times with no media attention whatsoever. in fact, i remember passing a t.v. with the news playing, and they were reporting the '08 elections, and the reporters just totally skipped over ron paul's name. it is just so scary how much impact the media has on people's lives. i dont know why the media doesn't want ron paul in office, but i do know that they sure as hell know how to sheild people away from acknowledging his campaign on the television.
I thought Ron Paul dropped out months ago. This is the first I have heard about him in a while, which pretty much proves the point of media bias. There are other candidates too that are relatively unknown. You never really hear about Barr, or Nader, or really anyone other than the big names. The sad thing is, in general, Americans know and care more about "American Idol" than they do the election, and that is exactly what the 'puppetmasters' want. The people pulling the strings don't care who wins...as long as it is one of their puppets. Ron Paul isn't a puppet, so he has been swept under the rug. He of all people should have known that from the beginning and not pursued the Republican nomination. He would have done better as an independant. The people that he appeals to are, 90% of the time, NOT REPUBLICANS. So even with even media coverage, he wouldn't get the nomination. As an independant runner, without a "party"...he'd be better off. I always like Paul, but never understood why he thinks he's republican.
Whenever I hear his name, I immediately think of Ru Paul. I think that says something about his popularity, lol.
I turned it off the moment they used the quantity of youtube videos as evidence for the canidate who has the most support. And Obama has more now... so...?
No. Ron Paul's political standing lines up much more so with the GOP than with the Democratic party- He fights for small federal government, less federal gov't control, more state gov't control, much lower taxes, & a strict following of the Constitution- all of these fit under the textbook GOP ideas- and the GOP actually USED to believe in these ideas, too! My, how times have changed, eh? Ron Paul would have had even less of a chance at being elected if he had run 3rd party- yes- while there are some fools out there who will ignore a candidate's individual ideas- no matter how wonderful- just because he has a D or a R next to his name... only in America.... My eyes are hurting so much because of all of the eye- rolling right now... it is very painful.... Anyway, The POTUS elections are extremely biased against the third parties- Ron Paul wouldn't have had a chance running as a libertarian, even though he did probably fit better with the Lib party ideals.
ughhh..... just..... shut it. If you have a way to make the mainstream media give him the fair coverage that he deserves that would to give him popularity, then please, do tell..... cracking the Ru Paul joke once again doesn't help anybody. Just because he isn't a popular candidate doesn't mean you can't get off the couch and find out more about him and this movement he sparked. Maybe if the extremely small percent of the people that actually took the time to vote for somebody in this hellhole of a country got up off of the couch and informed themselves, we wouldn't be in the middle of this mess. (hey, I can dream, can't I?) sorry if I may seem grouchy... I'm just passionate about politics and I can go overboard sometimes.
Uh... yeah... well, thankfully it's not my job to promote him. So I'm not. You go ahead tho. Jay-sus...
