They did geeky 20 minute songs about space and libertarianism and had long wanky solos.. so yeah, they're like the epitome of prog-rock.
Around that time most any decent band were Arena rock that was the new way to make money, fill a football stadium full of people instead of a small concert hall.
Honestly Dude....are you seriously high(If that's the case...where can I score some?) RUSH is one of the Gods of Prog Rock(though they're usualy associated with a few metal bands)But their sound, purpose, and soul is pure Progressive. No question about it. And I have to agree with pretty much everyone here...If you want Prog Rock embodied...it's just 4 digits and one album....2112(Though A Farewell to Kings,Hemispheres,Moving Pictures, and Permanent Waves in my opinion are classics.)
yeh there definately prog but then i would say there are other bands which are more prog. there wel good tho
First off Rush is awesome, I have newfound respect for them lately. I think there style is progressive at times deff. Just thought i'd say somethin lol
