i know someone who used light therapy & found it helped alot.. so does spending more time outdoors & also just being in a more well lit room

i know another person who was never diagnosed but i told her thats what it seemed she had, & her where she wworked was poorly lit & as soon as she switched jobs to a more well lit office her depression pretty much disapeared & hasnt come back

hope that helps..but if u hada more specific question i'll see what i can find out..but shouldnt this have gone in health forum?

YES, lighting is crucial to life!!! Lighting IS life!

    My advice to you:

Never, EVER enter a room without a dimmer switch!

Also, the best time to take a walk is either right before sunrise or right after sunset, due to the soft light being reflected off the atmosphere. It's when you look your prettiest. (and when we look pretty we feel good!)

lucky for you i just got done reading that section in my psychology book last night. there is a certain area in the brain called the superchiasmatic nucleus, or SCN. the SCN acts as your 'biological clock.' it keeps the circadian rhythm which is basically the fluctuations between bodily functions. in other words, it makes you tired at night, hungry in the morning, and raises your body temperature when you are alert. so anyway, the circadian rhythms control physiological functions such as blood pressure, heart rate, appetite, secretion of hormones and digestive enzymes, sensory acuity, elimination, the body's response to medication, learning efficiency, the ability to perform a wide range of tasks, and moods. You can 'set the biological clock' by exposing yourself to bright lights in the morning, and decreasing light exposure at night time.

i have depression, but i also get severely depressed in winter, worse than any other time of year. and i've found that lighting, especially sunlight is a great deal of help. i hope you understand most of what i said.

    :)

you also probably suffer from the StandardAmericanDiet. i would suggest maybe looking into raw foods and raw veganism or just trying to eat better, it and excercising makes a world of difference in how you feel...do you garden by chance??
