okay fellow loungers, close your mouths before you open your minds.

if you were to define salvation as that which sets you free from suffering, what would you propose is the path to salvation?

according to st. augustine the path to salvation is a healthy relationship with god in which god is superlative, the supremely good master. to maintain a healthy relationship with god is to imitate god, or to be like god.

nietzsche, as i understand, would consider "salvation" to be the end result of what simply is life, and life is the will to power. what is good is noble and what is bad is contemptible and one must determine their own values.

mencius, therefore confucianism, what i hoped i understood, would say that human nature essentially is good-willed, and will in some way contribute to social harmony. just as water naturally flows downhill unless dammed up.

    oh my brain.

    contribute, please. i engage you.

Each individual's path to salvation is unique. Mine is a strange amalgamation of modernized Taoist thought, egoism, and moral relativism. Top it all off with a healthy dose of stoicism. I do my own thing with the understanding that others will do theirs. It's a beautiful thing, several self-interested conscious entities all pursuing separate endeavors, yet unwittingly creating a grander context, which of course goes on to influence other individuals. It's a feed back cycle. Whatever makes a person happy / content is that person's salvation.

    ok, we are a multiuniverse.

were like a bubble, interwined with other bubbles.

were both the mother, and the son, and the crazy cousin of endless space. with different chrono systems, different dark matter and different atom layout.

if, that which gives life is god, how are we not god, we are both the child and birth giver of many other childs and birthgivers.

our science is soon to prove, there is no greater power, we are all the greatest power. whether ur an emo in the corner, or rambo on my roof, you still emit a life force, your still some fucked up mixture of atoms, without you, or with you, some crazy shit is happening - youre altering everything. since theres so many of you, i cannot name you all. i will just leave as life.

"deal with it and learn from it..."

is that not the point to the path of salvation?

buddhism has a path, an eightfold path technically.

    and you are close.

life is suffering, but the cause of suffering is desire.

which is of course, prevalent throughout life.

the third noble truth, of course, is that suffering can cease.

    and thus the eightfold path!

The all in one solution to all life's problems.. Utopium may not be suitable for anyone.. Ask your doctor if Utopium is right for you... ***

    you are inconsistent.

you are either suffering because of your perceived reality,

or you are suffering because you perceive reality to be real.

the only way.. if desire brings suffering.. then that means all desires must be given up in order to find salvation.. including the desire to live..

in the end.. Death is salvation

I see no reason to believe there's anything after death.
