I really want to try either LSD or Magic Mushrooms, but my friend said that we should try some Salvia first. I have tried some Salvia, but just leaves or something and I didnt trip, I just got a weird high and it wasnt that enjoyable...

Do you think that Salvia is a good way to cross into psychedelics because he said that if we dont like it, its only about 20 minutes maximum, so it wont be hell or anything, which I agree, but I want to hear the views of some other people.

If anyone could maybe compare it to shrooms or acid, or even to pot, that would be great, thanks

Haven't tried shrooms or acid, but I have tried pot, and salvia is way stronger for those 5-10 minutes that it lasts. I didn't know who I was, I was laying under a table seeing quadruple (4 images of reality) and laughing my ass off uncontrollably like a lunatic. It took me about 4 tries to get anything like that out of salvia though, I think it builds up in your system or something. I imagine salvia is stronger than shrooms or acid for those 10 minutes too. But I wouldn't know. Only similar experience i've had with pot would be a major, body shaking panic attack i guess.

Salvia is definatly a good start! Like you said its a short trip, but it might take you a few times to get it to work. You have to know how to smoke it right and you have to biuld up a tolorance to salvitorin A.

Ive smoke a lot of weed, and some Salvia but also never tried shrooms or acid.

For me I loose total controle on salvia for atleast 5 minites, then the next 10-15 minites are just trippy but i am somewhat in controle of myself

just work your way up. in smaller doses, salvia is much less intense than acid/shrooms but provides a step into the psychedelic realm. Maybe try salvia on weed- i find it highly intensifies the weed high and is a very good taste of acid/shrooms

That being said, if you take too big of a hit (which isnt hard to do on accident) you could be launching yourself much farther than acid/shrooms would take you and you can freak your shit out. Just be careful and take it slow.

acid/shrooms can be ecstatic, salvia is typically unpleasant. acid/shrooms experiences can be wondrous, salvia experiences are complex but lack the jaw-dropping "amazement" quality of other psychedelics. you may get some glimpse of the psychedelic realm but you are unlikely to fall in love with it. don't let salvia scare you off.
your friend may be hesitant about tripping. find somebody else to trip with.

Salvia not a good way to get into classic psychedelics like shrooms and acid. It's nothing at all similar. It's usually unpleasant and scary too. Some people like it though.

salvia is very unlike any other psychedelic. I can only (based on reading trip reports) compare it vaugely to really weak dmt (short, but intense)

its a good way though to begin learning that drugs can alter more than just your mood though. After your first decent trip, you will realise that weed does little more to your mind than tobacco in comparison with what else exists

Pepopstico has got it right. Noone i know likes salvia and everyone likes shrooms and sid. Salvia doesnt do anything but make you feel really weird and thats why its legal so it will scare everyone away from psychedelics.

must be just me but salvia in smaller doses gives a great afterglow for an hour or so... very peaceful

Anything above that and clothes become extremely annoying an uncomfortable, so yeah might not be pleasant in that aspect

salvia is nothing like anything. especially psychedelics. salvia should hardly even be considered a drug.

it's a good step toward mind expansion... but it's absolutely not a way i'd reccommend to someone to ease into psychedelic use.

don't be a wimp. just eat a few tabs of acid or a few grams of mushrooms. if you read up on them first and plan it out there's nothing to worry about. you have way more control over how your trip goes than you'd probably realize.

Its not just you, I fucking love salvia, but i also havent done shrooms or acid....so maby im biased.

If i had to describe salvia in just a few senteces i would say "Its really wierd, it fucks with your mind, you dont know what your doing, or where you are, its almost like your totaly something else out of this world, and for that short period of time you have no controle over your body, or mind"

    Fun stuff:D:cheers2:

I wouldn't say you have no control... it's more of a loss of inhibitions, and your brain goes on turbo drive.

In both salvia and shrooms, I have reached points where I completely lost my identity. With Salvia, I simply became another object/being, under the complete belief that I was whatever object that may have been (my lighter once, for instance). As for the "out of control thoughts," I still thought they are more clear headed even than those I get from marijuana. Sometimes I wouldn't classify them even as thoughts but rather the "voices in my head" communicating.

With shrooms, I lost my identity with a loss of meaning. Nothing held any significance, therefore I couldn't identify myself with my past, I was a different person. Becoming someONE else might be even more frightening than becoming someTHING else.

Anyways, back to the original question: if you want to "ease in" its about dosage rather than substance. Shrooms are probably easier to measure out a standard small dose (grams) when compared to salvia (milligrams)

DO NOT TRY SALVIA FIRST!!! it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay different, (it acts on completely seperate receptors in your brain, not the 5-HT receptors LSD and psilocybin act on) and while a cool and amazing drug on its own, if you try it first and dont like it you might not try real trip, and then youd be denying yourself one of the GREATEST joys in life. LSD>salvia every time
