When smoking salvia, it is generally accepted that distracting stimuli (talking, lights, TV, etc.) should be kept to a minimum, right? Whenever I've tried salvia, I get really pissy if someone is talking, especially if it's just for the sake of talking. I just have a whole "Man, I'm trying to trip, respect that or get out," type moment. Anyone else relate to that?
I was sitting for my hubby when he did salvia the first time, and he got a bit cranky when I had to prevent him from walking into our glass coffee table. Poor guy. He did thank me later.
My roommate has had a few experiences like that. I remember once, where me and another guy were tripsitting for him, and we were talking with low voices to eachother while he was tripping, and for about a minute straight, my friend just stood up and pointed his finger at me and swayed back and forth saying, "Fuck you man, you don't know shit man," and a few other things. Afterwards he didn't remember saying that, but he was irritated that we were talking while he was having an experience. One thing's for sure though, I won't talk while he's using salvia again. I just didn't remember that distractions are very disturbing. =\
whatever is happenning is the material from which the trip is made; silly people who think it is anything else than what is here and now, set and setting.
It's best to either be by yourself in a room (only if you're very experienced with salvia), or be in a room with one other person. The other person should make sure you aren't going to hurt yourself somehow but shouldn't be too focused on the person who's tripping. It's horrible to have someone watching you while you're tripping. It's best if the other person is reading a book or something and periodically glancing up to see if the tripper is okay. A tripsitter should never outright watch the person who's tripping. There are many, many reasons why it's a bad thing to do.
