Hi, I'm new here (actually I'm not - I signed up so long ago, that I forgot my user name and password and had to sign up again - and I bet that makes ya'll laugh - espescially if you were there. But it's cool - I blame it on the stroke I had back on memorial day) For me it was a given: graduate from highschool, go home - pack clothes in a bag - sneak out sister's window (mine was too high up...), walk to bus stop, meet up with some friends at the freight yard and catch one to San Francisco. I gotta say, tho', we didn't make it by train all the way there ('doesn't run that far, or maybe we got the wrong one...), but were able to hitch the rest of the way there, and I will not forget my first sight of the city in the evening - riding up and down those beautiful hillls - to our destination, which was a bar called the Blue Parrot. And the rest is history, as they say... I would love to catch up and really remember all of it...)
Welcome back to Hippieville, madcat111. You sound sort of like a dharma bum to me. Must have been a blast. When you finally got to San Fran you probably felt the same way I did when I reached Boston (I stopped to ask directions because I thought I had missed it, LOL!!!). Anyway I look forward to reading your posts. Peace and Love!!!
