Saudi Arabia has purchased two nuclear bombs from Pakistan. The bombs remain on Pakistani soil for now, but will be released upon royal order to be loaded on waiting planes. Saudi Arabia also has new missiles that they also bought from Pakistan with a range of 2300 km, which will easily reach anywhere in the mideast, and even much of Europe.

So now without any need to develop their own nuclear deterrent, Saudi Arabia enters the Nuclear Arms Race.

    What ever happened to non-proliferation?

    Can anyone spell "Nuclear Jihad?"

On one hand, certain crazier groups getting control of Nukes is really scary. On the other hand; the more countries that have them, the less likely those countries will use them by my logic.

Jihadists tend to be among the lower ranks of organizations. I really can't see a world leader being willing to risk Mutually Assured Destruction

Debka news cannot always be trusted. It's very pro-Isreal and anti-Arab. They've been wrong on things for years-but also right sometimes.

Some say it is tied to Mossad.

Other rumor that's been going around for years-CIA actually supplied the chips for those bombs. We actually control them thru those chips.

Iran has mines also.... The idea is to develop weapons grade, much harder to do than standard energy grade material.. Takes a while therefore other countries may be able to intervene. dont always work though , Pakistan and India have had their nukes pointed at eachother longer than the some can imagine..

    Nuclear Weapons

    Background
Pakistan Nuclear Weapons - A Chronology

    1960s
    http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/pakistan/nuke/chron.htm
1965: Pakistani nuclear research reactor at Parr, Rawalpindi, starts functioning.
1968: Nonproliferation Treaty completed. Pakistan refuse to sign.

India's nuclear weapons program was started at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center in Trombay. In the mid-1950s India acquired dual-use technologies under the "Atoms for Peace" non-proliferation program, which aimed to encourage the civil use of nuclear technologies in exchange for assurances that they would not be used for military purposes.

After 24 years without testing India resumed nuclear testing with a series of nuclear explosions known as "Operation Shatki." Prime Minister Vajpayee authorized the tests on April 8, 1998, two days after the Ghauri missile test-firing in Pakistan.

Iran and Iraq have some pretty nice uranium ore deposits. There's some in the mtns. of SW Iraq/Iran and a really nice deposit in the area right around the Turkey/Iraq/Iran border.

Once you get the ore, you have to separate the uranium from the rock. And the methods used depend on what else is formed with it and under what origin.
Then once that is done, you have to run it into nuclear fuel for the reactors. Then wait until the fuel breaks down into other products, namely plutonium. A single American plant, already up and running, might be able to produce enough weapons grade material in 6 to 38 months. MAYBE. Too many factors to say for sure. And since Iran does not have a facility of that size and capability, at best I expect they could process their own weapons grade fuel for one weapon in about 5 years. It has been a long time since I ever looked at that stuff, so I can't say how accurate I am.

It is much cheaper and far easier to instead buy the weapons grade material on the black market. Hell, you can even buy a suitcase nuke from the Ukrainians. Would you rather work your ass off building your own motorcycle, or would you prefer buying a Harley outright?

Considering that the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima was only 15 KT at max, I'd say 20 to 40 KT isn't child's play.

And you call it a "tactical weapon".

Amazing how jargon can hide the true horror of man's inhumanity.

Do you have any other "feelings" about the work you did for the DOD?

Of course it's "pro-Israel", it's an Israeli website. So it's going to present the Israeli point of view. However it's an Israeli site with tons of info found nowhere else. The Israelis will often have info from their own sources that either other countries don't have or won't release.

It's pretty obvious to me that Debka File has people inside the Israel gov't and military who leak info on nearly a daily basis. In addition they report on what is happening in the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, etc.

    Again...

The Debka file LEAKS INFO, just like Wikileaks. The difference is the source(s) are Israeli. There are many in the Israeli establishment who don't like what their gov't or military does. These are the ppl leaking the info.

Because the info originates from a spy network its veracity varies greatly. Does disinformation get thru? I'm sure it does at times, probably for security reasons.

I've also seen the site shutdown or offline during periods of crisis when the Israeli gov't clamps down on them. So they are definitely not a mouthpiece for the gov't or military. Plus they are very often critical of Israeli leaders and policies. Way more so than mainstream Israeli publications.

What I love about them is that they reveal a lot of info about the US gov't that our own gov't won't tell us. That alone is reason to check the site once in awhile.

I would sign up for their subscription so I could get the in-depth analysis that causal readers can't see, but I don't need to give them my info... ;)

Yah....of course non-proliferation is a joke as long as anyone keeps nuclear arsenals.
