I've been using vitamin E on some fairly bad scars, as a friend told me, and it doesn't seem to be fading them at all. I'd really like them to be at least a little less horrible by the time this summer rolls around so I don't have to be ashamed to wear short clothing... any ideas what I can put on them to fade them? :)

My friend who was shy about her heart surgery scar relaxed and opened up beautifully after our friend tattooed a beautiful purple lotus flower over the scar.

I was thinking about doing that, but I have to wait at least two years because my parents have an extreme prejudice against people with tattoos and there is no way I could get permission.

I've got some pretty gnarly scars on my knees from childhood. Hard place to maintain.

    Aloe vera!

It makes the scars fade away, litterally, because it makes the skin regenerate itself from the inside out. Try to get a plant or maybe some pure gel (it can be found at health food stores), at worst creams with aloe vera extract could help you out. In the meantime you should avoid getting a suntan, as this makes the scars darker, and use body scrub in the shower to accelerate your skin's regeneration. Good luck!

loe Vera is well known to freshen and moisturise the skin.. Its high content of anti oxidants can wake up that tired dull skin and make the skin feel fresh smooth supple and
beautiful. Its anti aging agent also helps to prevent wrinkles. With regular application of aloe vera the anti-aging agents tightens and lightens the wrinkle on the face.It lightens the scar s also
Aloe vera is also a good Sunscreen and very effective on sun burns and tanned skins again for its inflammatory property.

Sometimes it just takes time for the scars to fade. Eventually they will... overtime they turn white and any raised parts go down... they become less noticeable, but it can take time.

Learn to be comfortable in your own skin. I wear my scars with pride, and never take any steps to fade them out. I know it's more socially acceptable for men to have scars than women, but anyone who matters isn't going to be turned away by something so superficial. So use some Aloe Vera, or whatever, but don't worry if it doesn't work like you hope. DEFINITELY don't be ashamed of your own skin...

It's definitely not as socially acceptable for us ladies. One of my larger scars was covered by my most recent tattoo, which made me a little sad.
