My dogfriend seems to get really dry skin, i think, in the winter and even goes so far as to chew down two patches of her coat on each side of her. I have tried alot of different things but nothing seems to work and i wondered if anyone here had a solution!

Try rubbing a bit of tobasco sauce on her fur where she's chewing hersellf or sprinkle on a bit of cayenne. I do this to my power cords so my dogs don't chew him, but it might work for that too, aslong as there are no open wounds on her.

Or you could just take her to the vet to have her checked out for seasonal allergies. If that is the case, some cheap allergy meds will take care of the problem. Allergies can often look like dry skin.

That's what my dog had....some meds cleared her up pretty well. Also be sure your dog doesnt have fleas as some dogs are allergic to them and will get "flea dermatitis" (I think thats the name) My dog is allergic to fleas and it will only take a few fleas untill she starts chewing the hair off her backside. Anyway, I suggest what Bree said^^^^^^^ Hope she/he feels better soon~
