What type of computer do you have, how much ram, what processor? How many applications do you normally have open at the same time? We need more information before we can help.

I think it's a dell but it doesn't say anywhere. All it says is golden tech but I think thats just the company that fixed it. Don't know about ram or processor. If you tell me how to find out I will.

Thanks for helping or trying to

the easiest way is you go:
start -> settings -> control panel -> system
in the general tab look for Computer, there it would say processor type and speed , and amount of ram you have.

It sounds like the person who 'fixed' it actually gipsie-ed you.

They probably swapped your RAM and/or CPU and/or video card out and kept it. Then they might have put in their old stuff and hoped you wouldnt notice.

If you are having problems, this 'fixer' obviously didnt 'fix' it, did they?

did that, okay until system. I have a windows xp. so maybe it's different?

to the other poster it looks like I'm gonna have a serious bitch fit at golden tech. I wonder if I can prove what you say. but it did come back this way and it wasn't before.

don't know if this helps but I took it in because my autistic brother gets on and lets at porn and I think he tries to hide it with spy ware or something, totally fried the hard drive. If they're fuckin me over there's hell to pay. I had to drop out of school bc all my work is on this computer and I'm a Phi Tetta member (top honor society). I'm a nice girl but I'll raise hell over this.

hi again Crystalsatreehugger , start -> settings -> control panel -> system
there it opens a new window called system properties , when it opens your already in the general tab, take a look and see if you have processor and ram information in it.
i wont jump to any conclusion about fucking or anything lol , you can find information about your computer in the manufacture site.
since you mention porn , porn websites tend to install spyware programs , use an updated antivirus & antispyware program to scan your computer.
and you should always backup your data.
    anyhow good luck :sunny:

There is no doubt that they will have to fix what they messed up. Tell yourself that.

Take the computer in there and set it up (or have them do it) and show them exactly what you are talking about. Make sure you do all of this right in front of a manager or person in charge. Tell that manager everything that happened and he should take care of you.

Is this a laptop or a desktop?

(also, it could be that they didnt install a driver or something but they really shouldnt have to unless they messed around with your hardware)

Don't blame the people you hired to fix the unit until you are sure they are at fault. I doubt they stole your ram or cards.

More likely your unit is full of spyware and crap, especially if you have someone that frequents porn sites.

Time to perform some necessary housecleaning without pointing fingers. If you're a myspace user chances are you infect your computer multiple times a day.

The type of thing you described is something that happens when you run out of ram, but if you have a lot of spyware or keytrackers infecting your machine and operating in the background, it can do the same thing. And porn sites are notorious for scripts and infections.
