    Hey, Everybody Hows it going?

I have Many things that I use Marijuana for as Medication. The Biggest being ADHD...It helps me just to relax, and makes me able to focus. My problem is I get high every day before school so I can stand to sit still in class, and so i don't just non-stop talk and annoy the hell out of everybody. But when I'm high, school is the last interest in my mind, and im 17, about to start 11th grade and have less then 2 High School credits, I need 20 to graduate. I take adderall for ADHD but it does'nt really help, because I cant focus on things, especially math, and I get pissed at myself because I cant do simple things that everyone else can...it sucks. My parents know I smoke pot, But dont Believe it Helps with ADHD, and they are highly dissaproving of it. I mean my mom put me through 3 rehabs for pot, and I ended up getting into coke/ crack, meth and other things, so she finally gave up. But I want nothing more then to just Graduate High School, and get on with life. Right now I'm leaning towards getting My GED, I've taken the test back when i was 15, almost 16 and aced everything but the math?.....Any Suggestions or advice?...It'd be greatly appriciated.

Well your situation is a shitty one. The only thing I can suggest is have your doc up the dosage. Unless you can convince yourself to pay attention or to do your homework. I can't really relate too much cuz of your ADHD. Thats shitty ur mom put you through rehab for pot. It pisses me off when I hear about parents doing that. Good luck.

Two credits Jr. year? No offence man but get your shit together. Stop smoking so much weed and try to get your adderall dosage upped. I don't mean to come off like a jerk, but if you really want to make a difference in this world and not manage an Arby's it helps a lot to have an education. Some people like you just have a condition that makes this more difficult, but you can't let that hold you back. I hope the best for you.

Your mom put you through rehab for weed?!!! No offense, but that is totally irresponsible! Placing a young person with hardcore drug users is only going to cause damage. I worked in the rehab industry for years as a keyworker and that is not the sort of thing we would ever agree with. As for your weed smoking, have you tried only having a few tokes before class rather than a full bowl or joint? It may give you the effect you require without totally erradicating the ability to retain information in class. Good luck with this, I think you should experiment and find an equalibrium between being stoned and learning so that you can function better and perform better.

He wasn't, hamsammich was telling an unpleasant truth. College grads have it much easier than those with only a HS diploma.

The OP should talk with his doctor. He is either bouncing off the walls or zoned to uslessness. (OK, I exagerate) The meds he is on aren't working. They need to be changed so he can concentrate at school.

Sounds like you are trying to kill your ADHD with a nuclear bomb when it probably will take a simple Sam Missile. Getting stoned every day before school sounds a little much and is enough to give someone ADDHD.

Is it super weed that puts you in orbit or just mild weed. Try getting stoned the night before, sleep good, then see if the ADHD is better. If not, then get the Adderal dose adjusted like the other fellow suggested. One fellow suggested getting just a little stoned before class that is another option. Weed is a medication and not just something to get high on. Do you take 30 asperins for a headache? Lets use some common sense here.........find something that you like in school and do it big time.

Well, you kinda sound like me, truthfully. I dropped out of high school, stayed away for 3-4 months traveling around, and came back and did the "alternative" to the regular school. It was a place that you JUST worked on your credits, and thats it. And you dont go all day you went from like 8-11am or 12-3pm. It was a lot better, because I didnt have to deal with all the assfucks in the regualr school, and the teachers could help you out more if you needed it because of the smaller class sizes. More laid back too, they considered it an "adult facility"... different than regualr high school, though. No class discussions, nothing like that. "Teachers" (whom you called by a first name basis and would smoke with you...) gave you packets, and you do the packets. Finish them, take the test, and move on to the next packet. Once you finish all the packets, you finished that credit for that class. I finished my high school education from freshman to senior in 6 months...... you should give it a try, see if they have something in your area similar to that.

And you know what? If smoking weed truly does help you, do it. I am a HUGE stressball, constantly freaking out about stuff, and I'm slightly ADHD. (Don't wanna take those damn pills though... yuck! I give my adderall to friends!) I smoke a little of the sweet leaf, and I can concentrate, I feel better, and I'm not INSANE. If it helps, I dont care. I'll do whatever it takes to feel my best, thank you.

Forget highschool and forget the meth. Don't worry, be happy. Try taking your credits online maybe?

^^^it's not always the case, take trepanation as an example. people drilled a hole in the skull if they had a headache.

i'm not saying that all ancient medicine is bad, but IMO what we need objective research to find optimal remedies for our illnesses, which is not happening today because the pharmaceutical industry want to sell us drugs and don't give a shit about finding real cures for maladies.

I think what he's saying is that he'd rather take a drug with which we know the side effects and the risks involved, especially a herbal medicine which has been around for 1000s of years. Many modern drugs have not yet tested the rigours of time, and also have side many effects way more harmful than that of marijuana.

But I get what you are saying, and you have a point, but the example you give is a little extreme. Herbal remedies have nothing to do with trepanation, it is a surgical proceedure.

sure, it's a little extreme, but i was just trying to demonstrate that just because people do something for 10.000 years doesn't mean that it's a good idea lol

Personally I can't see how you can study when your stoned. I wouldn't remember much for a start and worse still I couldn't be botherd to study. Stop with the excuses I'm sure you know this.
