Ive had my septum pierced for just about a year now.. I was wondering, it only smells funny when i wash it.. Obvious answer is to stop washing it? i like to keep it clean but, i hate it smells like balls.
all piercings have a smell... try cleaning it more actually lol the smell comes from the dead skin inside the pierced hole the skin gets trapped and creates a funky smell also make sure you get all soap residue out because that adds to the funk smell
Has it been stretched up at all? That seems to normally increases the smell. Do you play with it lots also? I've noticed mine smells a little, but it only really comes out when I play with it and move it around.
Mine gets stanky as fuck sometimes. I'll get a whiff and be like, "whoa.. the fuck is so raunchy in here?" Then I'll just realize it's my septum. You gotta clean it more. Take it out, do a salt soak, put it back in. As mentioned up there, it's just dead skin cells and sweat and stuff accumulating in the hole. Every piercing has it. Hell, even my monroe got kinda smelly every once in a while.
