At the onset of the Gulf War - rather, in the days before the Gulf War, the early days of January 1991, when the "line in the sand" had been drawn, and the world waited tensely to see whether Saddam Hussein would withdraw his troops from Kuwait by the U.N. imposed deadline, Italian parliament member (and former porn starlet) Illona Staller stepped forth and made the world an ultimatum: she offered that if war could thus be averted and international tensions relieved, she'd be willing to travel to Baghdad and deliver unto Saddam Hussein the most mind-boggling fuck of his life, a sexual act of such potentcy as to be worthy of global political ramification. It seemed a reasonable offer, worth a shot. Why not? As the leaders of the world convened and debated, went through their motions of "doing everything in their power" to avert bloodshed, why wasn't the Staller peace plan at least tried? It;s not like it would have cost a lot of money or taken an inordinate amount of time.
