My finger and its darkened tip Poking at the soot of a murky pipe. Lips exhaling the sly culprit, Familiarizing me, Offering a chance with madness! And every breath an unwritten script Projected thoughts through tarnished bulbs Life was plentiful without haste, Yet the shadows maintained their gloom. Shadows against a wilted wall. Like a stiffened finger Pressing itself into my most tender sores. Indifferent to my muted grief, Unresponsive cries. And eyes who knew how to preserve a blank stare, A façade to veil this disabled joy. Smothering the yelps of my vacant canvas. ------ I wrote htis after a toke ... a mixture of my legendary melancholy and smoke-induced thoughts. -- i noted that the last line was sort of awkwardly out of connection with everything else....and the poem doesn't have a distinct end .... *shrugs* eat it up with a spooon.
i like it! the words really remind me of times whenever i go out back to smoke...rather errie, but good!
poetry about poetry a brush to push the boat strokes the painted water and yes, you are afloat the canvas may be blank but the canvas, it is there and the most beautiful art created started off as bare most put too much haste into filling up their minds sloppily slapping colours that will later be their binds being bare may seem shady with all the shadows crawling by but life is plentiful without haste take your time and you will fly BUT DO IT! I really liked your poem, do you ever perform your work?
I enjoyed the hell out of both. Two for one!! It's like opening a gift and finding another wrapped up inside, thanks both of you!
The first five lines sing. Love them. Then there's more candle than flame. Still a heck of a good effort. Write on!
i enjoyed this outlet of awareness how we wonder to find ourselves...... lovenpeace from saff... comfort is a step towards finding out who and why we are individuals.............
Rafaela, this was great and perhaps reflecting on this will let this insomniac on the boards grab a little bit of shut-eye before I really have to be up to make it to work. Thanks! Keep up the good words. Vetty
