make sure that your closet is completly cleaned out and sterile. There can't be ANY mold spores in the air. It will eat all the grow media. Use gloves and lysol on everything. I have tried this a few times and that was my downfall.
you only have to worry during innoculation. if your grain is sterile (pressure cooker....) and you have good innoc technique then you shouldn't have a problem. once the substrate is colonized the mycelia are very resistant to contamination so you don't really have to have lysol all over your crib.
