Ok, I hid my dime bag in my TV/VCR combo. I accidently ejected a video and got it lost in the tv somewhere. It says there is a risk of electrical shock if u take the tv apart. I want to take the tv apart, but I`m afraid I`ll get electricuted. Should I just forget about it?

look for this black cord. It should be coming from the back of the TV, and will probably be connected to the wall via this weird looking thing called an outlet. Detatch the cord from the wall....

Seriously... you can't get electricuted if there is NO POWER running to the unit.

Watch out for capacitors, they WILL light your ass up if you touch one.

i just learned about these in electricity class
capacitors are the little cylinder/box lookin things that look kinda like a battery
if you've ever taken apart an electronic device, you've probably seen them and they store electricity, so dont touch them

    wtf...capacitors wont shock you

they are silicone covered to PREVENT electricicity and static from being leaked out, i've touched em a tonne of times while things were plugged into them, the only danger is if they blow and i doubt they would if your TV is unplugged

If you touch the contacts, then you will be shocked. If you touch a part of the circuit that is energized by this capacitory, you will be shocked.+

just unplug and press the power button a couple times to use up the stored energy then if you want to be ultra safe just put it aside for a night

It's almost your duty as a stoner to go and try and save those nuggets.

WRONG!!! There are capasitors in the TV that store a respectible charge. You can die if you touch the wrong parts of an unplugged TV. That's why the warning is there.

Haha..this thread is hilarious and tragic at the same time. Capacitators are going to be pretty tough to distinguish if you have no electrical experience. But don't fuck around with them. I've seen a capacitator melt a screwdriver's head when it completed the circuit.

I'd say, open it up, and see if you can easily get it out. If you can't get it out easily or don't even see it, just give up. And next time, don't hide weed in something with warnings of electrocution on the outside (even if it is a good way to keep wayward eyes from your stash).

yeah wow, honestly if it is just a dime bag, it may be worth just forgetting about it. or finding someone with some electrical knowledge and doesn't care about weed to do it. or learn about it yourself,....... a few different people said you run the risk of dying by touching a capacitator. life isn't worth a dime bag, so make sure you're careful in whatever you decide.

fuck you people make this out to be so much more then it is

how hard is it to remove the cover on a tv and pick your bag outa there? it's not like it's intertwinded in electrified wires
