i let people wear shoes in my home during dry weather...i have wood floors through out so its not a big deal and if you are visiting my kids bedroom i actually insist you wear shoes his floor is a frappe of spilled bong water and teenage vomit and who knows?
I don't really give a crap, but unless we've just recently vacuumed (which is rare...but right now we have!), what you end up with stuck on/in your feet is your problem. lol But I never suggest walking into the bathroom with just socks. The cats' main area is in there and they like to kick litter out of their box or blow chunks right in front of the door, or get into a fight precariously close to their water bowl, so there's normally some mess to be avoided. lol
I generally prefer folks to have shoes off in my house if they're gonna be there for awhile but it's no big deal. In my teenager's room hipwaders are a good bet. I'm pretty much just naturally a barefooter but not not to the extent of the folks in the barefoot forum who make a religion of the scared shoeless scenario. I mean jeezus you got shoes on or not who cares?
i can tell the kids that are trained properly to remove shoes the second they come in..i usually tell them to re shoe
shoes on here....hardwood and linoleum ..there is no carpet anywhere so I really dont care carpets are so gross holding all the dirt ...hard floors are much cleaner
i couldn't care less, and when I finally get my tipi built and head off to live in the woods I don't think shoes or no shoes will matter one bit
Shoes off when you walk into my living area. You don't know what shit people stepped in and the last thing i want is them dragging a bunch of god knows what into my place. I'll take stinky feet n socks over shoes any day. The world is really dirty, people walk in things that might make you puke, so i like my place clean.
I admit I've always found people very strange who insist on shoes off when you go into the house. That makes no sense to me. My shoes are staying on at all times except the shower and the bed, that's it. I guess it's especially weird to me because we always had housekeepers growing up, so cleanliness was never an issue, they were there every day to make sure the house was clean so really who cares if someone tracks in some mud into the entry way, it'll be cleaned up within a few hours anyway.
I grew up in a home where you ALWAYS take off your shoes. All my family had the same policy and most of my friend's homes were the same way. However, my bf is extremely anti taking off your shoes. I desperately want to live in a home where shoes are not permitted. Mother fucker.
Yes, except they're not shoes...they're slippahs. I hate that fucking word. But yeah, they're totally necessary. I don't want to be stepping on nobody's dirty needles!
i don't force anything on my guests, but i have white carpets so i personally try not to wear shoes inside. most people see the pile of shoes just inside the door and just take theirs off without my asking anyway.
leave them on take them off I don't care. that's what door mats are for. You can walk anywhere in our house without shoes and not worry
Yep, gotta agree with you antithesis. Shoes often bug me and feel restrictive. As Mason said it's more relaxing without them on. Hell, around home if nobody else is there a whole lot more than shoes come off.
I used to think, Beige carpets, Cream / White walls to bring a brightness to the home - then came the cleaning (!) Now the children are no longer here. I have few vistors, so "what the heck" - I prefer barefoot, but then again is that just me? Ho hum
