during deer season this year 113,000 deer were hunted
killed by being shot with a gun or an arrow

this was only in the state of Ohio

the numbers are astronomical if you add in the other 49 states and canada and mexico...we are talking millions of deer that wont be here next year...

do you want those deer wandering around suburbia?..i do not

deer season puts millions of dollars into the economy...into peoples lively hoods.....

so the next time you want to speak up about hunting you should run the numbers too and see if it is actually feasible,,,it is not.......

to the tree-huggers...what is more cruel...millions of deer starving to death and over running whole towns or shooting and eating them?

all pick up trucks in my county are stained with deer blood

Good example picking deer - I don't have a problem with hunting season and some aspects of population control. Plus I'm under the impression that a lot of deer hunters eat the venison and all that. But then in states like Alaska where it's legal to shoot bear cubs in their dens? I do have a problem with that. I understand though there can be a fine line between good policies regarding hunting and overkill.

I mostly hunt in Beaver county, therefore I get deers from West Virgina, Pennsylvania and Ohio.. for an extra fee can use semi automatics in WV..

but my hunting now, is mostly limited to the deer and squirrel around here in the suburbs.

Wild turkeys and white-tailed deer are already starting to take over our neighborhoods so I say kill Bambi and his little feathered friends too [IMG]

in ontario[here]..you cant shoot a yearling bear but can shoot a cub....coyote are legal to shoot year round on your own property...people here shoot the coyote which are easier to track...they then hang the coyote and wait for wolves....another practice here is to plant entire fields of various deer crops...the crops are ripe when the hunt begins and farmers just wait for the deer to wander in and feed..............other hunters put out bushels of apples in the same location all summer long and the deer will return in the fall to check for food

for bear they but off-cuts from a butcher and bury them deep with rocks and logs on top so that only a bear is strong enough to dig it up...again..the bear return to look for food

with wild turkey you can put on a turkey mask and walk right up to these delicious birds......most of my friends can easily imitate a male turkey mating call

Only times when I had to kill and eat animals was when I was in nature without other food nearby.
    What I killed and ate:
    -one snake
    -some lizards
    -some fish
    -one squirrel
    -some insects

Yes, it's absolutely the natural order of things [IMG]

Chinese man eats dog, dog eats cat, cat eats mouse, mouse eats insect, insect bites man, man swats and kills insect.

It's the getting rid of the organs that most people have a probem with doing themselves. It's kind of icky, especially if you tear up the bowels... I'm not hypocritical about the fact that I'm glad it's not daily practice for me (not that I eat meat every single day).

We grew up on the coast, migrated adjacent to waterways. Shellfish and other tidewater creatures are ideally suited to hunter gatherer lifestyle.
