Hey people, I'm 16 and from the USA. There are loads of magic shrooms growing in my front yard. Now don't worry because I'll make sure I get them ID'd on shroomery before consuming. That said, should I take them? I am a very shy person and I hope that a psychedelic experience would open my eyes to see more about the world and to stop wasting my time being shy. I have been very interested in shrooms and other hallucinogens for a while now. I have never tried one as of yet though My questions are these: 1. What mindset should I go into trying them with? 2. What dose should I have of the shrooms so as not to freak out? For my first time I want a really easy experience, nothing heavy Thanks people Ric
Open mind. Its gonna be like nothing youve ever experianced. Know that. But use that so u dont "freak out" 2. It depends on what kinda shrooms you got growing. Find OuT!!!
1. Open to anything. It's a little easier to do once you've been there at least once, but just be ready to accept that which comes. 2. What the above poster said. Some mushrooms are more potent than others; just let us know which ones you have and we'll be able to answer more accurately.
be excited, take an eighth. have fun and be safe, make sure to ID on shroomery and with spore prints etc
I'd recommend 2.5 to 3 grams of cubensis, but if they are growing in your yard chances are they are stunzii so I'd say about 4-5 grams. But if they are something more powerful, I'd say less. A helpful thing is to use the dosage calculator on shroomery.org http://www.shroomery.org/6257/Magic-Mushroom-Dosage-Calculator I wouldn't take an eighth of cyans, more like half that. I made that mistake my first time when I was fifteen, terrible trip but if you have nothing on your mind and your aptly prepared than don't worry, it'll work out. If you have any reservation about it though than take a small dose, a small enough dose that won't cause any problems. If your a happy person, you got plenty of time, then chances are your fine just use common sense. And remember to avoid contact with the two worst things a tripper can experience: Authority (be it anywhere from police to your parents) Death (just be safe, in a safe place) Good luck and happy trails. PS http://www.erowid.org/library/books_online/psychedelic_experience/psychedelic_experience.shtml There are parts in here a sitter can read to you to either make a better experience better or a worse experience a lot better.
1. What mindset should I go into trying them with? A good happy one in a safe place. Don’t be afraid of the trip or where it may take you. Magic mushrooms mimic the chemical serotonin that your body produces, so they are harmless to your body. They aren’t really poisonous, but they are something your stomach won’t like digesting. I’d suggest you make a tea with them. It would take dozens and dozens of pounds eaten to even come near a OD point, 2. What dose should I have of the shrooms so as not to freak out? Depends on the mushrooms and how they grew, but fresh picked ones are more potent.
Erowid knows very little. The dosage information is all way off, the RC info is all outdated and the experience reports section should be called the creative writing section.
If you think you'll have a good experience, you will. If you think you'll have a bad experience, you will. Make sure you have 6-8 hours of your day squared away to do nothing but enjoy your trip. Make sure homework is done, plans are canceled, and your parents won't be around. Seeing as your 16, this might be harder for you to do than a college kid, so I suggest waiting until then Personally I'd suggest waiting until you're out of the house (moved out) or away from your parents (spending the night at a friends house) If you're currently troubled by anything, on any level. I do not suggest taking them, psychedelics sometimes being psychological crises to the forefront of your consciousness. There's a time and place for everything and it's not high school.
Whatever happens just remember it wears off. So knowing that should relax you a bit. Make sure you don't have any commitments for the next 5-6 hours.
