I can never find anyone I really connect with. Do you think online dating will be worth my while? It seems a little strange to do so when I'm only 19.

i started perusing dating websites when i was 19, and ive had pretty good luck with them. it can take some time to find someone worth your while, let alone to have a good long term relationship with, but it doesnt require a lot to sink in to start (at least, not if you use the free sites like okcupid and plentyoffish)
i met my fiancee on a dating site, and were both stupidly happy

I had to write a paper on online dating. I made an account just to see what its like. I didn't pay but after completing all my specs I was getting like 12 e-mails a day from them fixing me up with people. I'd say give it a try, you never know what can happen.

I've had a generally lousy time on dating sites. I signed up for Match.com for a month, which was terrible. There were hardly any women I was interested in (not Match.com's fault), and the interface was terrible. Plus it wasn't worth the money in my opinion, so I cancelled it (they tried to automatically re-up my subscription and I had to call and argue to get them to refund my money).

Okcupid is free and has a much better interface than Match.com, and it seems that there are more interesting people on there. However, I cancelled my account out of frustration recently. I had met and went on 2 dates with one girl and I thought it went well, but she disappeared and never got back to me. After that, I found a few girls who seemed like great matches, but after sending them a really thoughtful, non-creepy introductory email, they never wrote back.

I've also met a couple of girls from Craig's List, which was terrible each time. I'm kinda giving up the search and will just wait until I meet someone in real life, I think.

I met my husband online- we dated for some time - went back and forth talked on the phone emailed msned telephoned sent letters etc . i was still taking courses in my city while he was in his city. We are 10 years apart. Finally , i went to go meet his family where he was from , fell in love with everyone there and he moved in with me a week later slowly. Kept bringing things back to my city. A few months later he proposed to me and we have been happily together 6 years married 3 this march 18!! It can happen if you allow communication to flow freely and love flow as well. Trust is a big one as well

well personally I've used myspace and AOL chat rooms before. None of which worked. I'm currently dating someone I met off myspace. And not too sure how that's going to pan out. But if you don't take a chance, you don't know what can happen. Like John Michael Montgomery says "Sink or Swim you gotta give it a whirl." I wish you the best of luck in whatever decision you make.

I met my fiance on craigslist... He's amazing.. It's that love that you never could have comprehended prior to being with them... you know?

I wouldn't pay for internet dating -- but what's the worst that can happen on free sites? you waste time building relationships/friendships instead of watching tv?

    do it!!

Damn right you should use online dating. There are several benefits. You can get to know someone without actually going on dates. This can mean that by the time you actually go out with someone you know them so well its like the 5th date already. This way you can save money if your short, or you can save time if your busy. And if you don't like who your talking with you don't even have to go out with them at all.

Its alot easier "approaching" someone online. Its good if your shy or on the introverted side. I for one can't stand the bar scene. I don't meet women that way. Nothing better then meeting great people in the comfort of your own home. But maybe thats just me...

Oh and my current GF I met online. We've been going out for a few years now.

I met my boyfriend online (accidentally, not through a dating site). We knew each other for five years before meeting, now we're together and happy as clams. My sister met her current girlfriend of over a year on Plenty of Fish. So, it might take some time but if you decide to, good luck :), but be careful!

Oh, and I'm 19; my sister is 22.

if you are picky in real life (good for you, really, everybody should be picky when picking mates:)
you will be picky online as well.
and people online are just same people you see around:))

i dunno, im on this online site for a month now, and didnt really find anyone i'd like to date:/
but maybe its just me :)

My buddy has a site called http://www.starcrosseddating.com He tells me the member database is pretty huge. Seems like a good way to try meet people if you're not too good at doing that in person.

I've tried online dating, and since I first bought a membership in 2005, NO LUCK. That tells me that either online dating is fake or women have no taste....

Why not, there's no harm in trying. There are many sites out there, dont pay for online dating but try the free ones (which most people refer to now anyway).

Even if it doesnt work out when you meet, there is always a future in being friends. I met my boyfriend (ex now) online, and we lasted 2 years. Just be careful with your personal information, and get to know them well.

I met my fiance through an online dating site. Being able to screen your potential suiters can be very beneficial! =D
