"Senators Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., at a news conference Tuesday introduced new legislation aimed at protecting children from harmful interactions with AI chatbots." Hawley Introduces Bipartisan Bill Protecting Children from AI Chatbots with Parents, Colleagues - Josh Hawley The Three Phases, Problem: The manipulator covertly creates, engineers, or exploits a problem or crisis. This issue is often amplified and popularized through various means (like media or online communication) to make it seem like a major threat. Reaction: The presentation of the problem is designed to elicit a strong emotional reaction from the public, such as fear, anxiety, or anger. This emotional response generates a social demand for immediate action or change. Solution: Once the public demands action, the manipulator offers a pre-planned solution that advances their own agenda but might otherwise be considered unacceptable or an overreach. The demand for resolution, driven by emotion, allows the solution to receive less critical scrutiny than it would under normal circumstances. 2024 GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley wants to abolish anonymity on the internet. "In a recent appearance on Fox News, Haley said that if she were to become president, her second priority—after forcing the platforms to disclose their algorithms—would be to require name verification of all social media users. "It's a national security threat," she said. "It gets rid of the Russian bots, the Iranian bots, and the Chinese bots. 2024 GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley wants to abolish anonymity on the internet." Lazy 1st post sloppy paste but they are pulling out all the stops. Come back to this thread in 10 years if this website is even still here and make fun of my "conspiracy theories" The only time we ever get "bipartisan" legislation is when those creeps want to screw us out of our freedoms. How do you keep kids from being exposed to that extreme filth on porn sites ? Its simple you ban free porn so its a pain in the ass to get access and the porn sites be happy too now people have to pay. What ever now I am falling into the problem reaction solution trap this is not about protecting kids they just want to build their digital dystopia.
Government banning of porn is censorship, contrary to the First. How about parents just become aware of what their kids look at on the net.
Pornography is not speech. Say what ever you want out in public you can't have gangbangs in the park in front of everyone.
It really is sad, I saw 2 kids fishing off the bridge but the both sitting staring into phones instead of actively feeling for bites and moving the bait around. "Fake IDs are easier than ever to create and online identity fraud is increasing – but instead of worrying about fraudsters bypassing KYC and other checks, businesses can take advantage of more advanced AI fraud detection and layered identity verification solutions to keep themselves and their customers protected. An underground online service called OnlyFake that sells identity documents it claims are generated by AI and “neural networks” created a buzz of headlines in early February after 404 Media published an investigation and tests of the service. The article said OnlyFake claims to generate hundreds of documents at once from Excel sheets and up to 20,000 a day. Media reports followed with claims and concerns that OnlyFake documents had been used to bypass KYC and AML checks at prominent crypto and finance platforms." Ha ha thats cool I was hoping something would come up.
That is interesting makes me feel more hopeful about the future online fake IDs make it more difficult to inflict the China style internet on Americans as fast as they would like too. I don't know its not if anymore its when the world is going to be like that.
Pornography is guaranteed by the First unless it involves underage children or is obscene. Child pornography is easily defined, but obscenity is not. In Miller v. California (1973) the supreme court ruled that to be obscene the material must be “patently offensive hard core sexual conduct.” This allows most pornographic material. Public fornication is a different matter.
The internet is a public place. 1973 was a different time. Have to look at the whole thing again. 2009 that was a wile ago too. Maybe porn should have its own internet. Like www.Dirtypicures.porn ""The publication of "The Beast" by Chic Publications occurred in 1966. This tract by Jack Chick is well-known for its themes surrounding the Apocalypse, including the Antichrist and the Rapture. It gained significant popularity and remains a notable piece within Chick's extensive collection of religious tracts."" But yes I read it too way back when the idea of a world wide web and license place reader cameras and facial recognition cameras were not all over town like they are now. A computer was that floppy disc green and black screen overgrown calculator.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like the "Online Safety Act" that was brought in here in the UK. It's a pile of poo, and has resulted in millions of new subscriptions to VPNs like NordVPN and others. I have subscribed to one, and use it if I want to see things that are banned here in the UK without me providing proof of my age (75 !!!). However, by mistake I tried to log into this site a couple of weeks ago while I had the VPN open, and received the message that "You're banned from this site". So then I closed the VPN down and was able to log in without question.
But can't ID pictures be manipulated with AI? I'm just saying that this along with other online safety acts didn't really work did they? I still got online as a child, for example.
