by Michael Moore. Opens on Friday where I am, probably every where else too. Anyone gonna go see that?!
I loved it!!! I cried and laughed, everyone in the theatre was SO interactive, everyone applauded after. Sweet! Makes me very happy about canada, however, the things I take for granted...
Michael Moore seems less invasive, less of an asshole in this one, less hateable. Yes it was a cry at times & laugh at others. the film was well done & seriously points out that our health care system is wacked & needs serious reform. I felt that the film was really well done, i was amazed to find out that in various countries , ( aside from canada ), that people are very happy with socialized medicine. It was a sweet twist to learn that Michael Moore had sent 12 grand to the guy who has the worst "fuck Michael Moore" web site when his wife became ill. He sent the check anonymously to fund the guy's wifes' insurance, and didn't reveal that it was him that did so until this film, he said that the guy still bashes him.
still havent seen this. i really want to check it out. i heard moore kicked wolf blitzers ass the other night.
My DH and I saw the movie also and now we really want to move, the thing is Canada (BC) is only a 6 hour drive from us. so its really tempting , we were even looking at houses last night .
i live in the UK i never even realised u guys didn`t have free welfare before this movie, the whole concept of having to pay for treatment really does seem alien to me, i mean imagine if u were a doctor and unable to treat a dying kid just becos they couldn`t afford to pay, its a nightmare.till, i guess the system must work well over there. Mr. Moore does seem to onli focus on the good aspects of the health services in other countries tho. for example, our NHS has long waiting lists and often unsanitary conditions, the MRSA superbug kills many every year due to lack of hygeine in hospital wards. still, we feel that its worht the aggro to know that you have some kind of medical safety-net.
