A couple days ago, my period started very oddly. The first day, the bleeding was very light and spotty. Yesterday, the bleeding got a little heavier, I had cramps, and then that night some white-ish, grey-ish tissue (solid) came out. Now the bleeding has almost stopped. I read the warning signs for miscarriages and that was listed as a definite sign. I didn't even know I might be pregnant. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. What is going on? Is it likely that it was a miscarriage? Has anyone else expierenced this before (tissue coming out)? I don't want to seem insensitive to other's pain, but I really need advice. Peace & Love dharma mama
Could have been a spontaneous abortion. I had one of those a few years ago and I bled between my period. I went to the doctor, had some tests done, and sure enough my (whatever) cell count was high (whatever cell is higher when you're pregnant). My (whatever) cell count lowered slowly for the next few days...indicated I had lost the baby. Good luck, sweetie.
Why get these medical tests when you can simply ask total strangers online if you're pregnant still or not?
ig, i can sense you lurking about for further responses to this thread. lol. are you being might bit provoking? if you are, i'll pop the popcorn, 'cause you know i love it. anyway, the same thing happened to me when i was 15. if it was a spontaneous abortion, you may need to be further cleaned to avoid a horrific infection. either way, a good ol check up is just the thing for you.
I'm listening to Kick Axe but I'm not in any way shape or form trolling THIS thread. I'm just suggesting that this is a computer monitor, not a crystal ball, and any medical advice solicited through the internet is worth the paper it's printed on. Now, the divorce thread, that's another story.
The only way you'll know for sure is after you see your doctor. He/she will more than likely do a blood draw to check if you have levels of HCG (pregnancy hormone) in your bloodstream. However, they might just do a simple urine test. Take care... {{{Hugs}}}
I'm not going to know for sure. I saw my doctor and more than likely it was a miscarriage. However, no tests were done b/c it won't change what happened. Thank you all for your support. These past couple days have been really hard. I suspected that I can't get pregnant w/o having a miscarriage when I was younger. My boyfriend and I aren't ready for a child yet and more than likely there was some problem with the embreyo. I just feel bad b/c I might have drank while I was pregnant b/c I didn't know. I feel guilty so I'm not going to drink anymore. I want you guys to know that I appreciate your responses to my post. Thanks again. Peace & Love

OK so wait, you might have miscarried, but your doctor isn't going to bother to make sure you haven't only partially miscarried? He isn't going to confirm or deny that you're pregnant? Switch doctors. And BTW, you're now saying it's unimportant whether you know or not... then why ask us?
Gee... Can't get to the doc till morning, nothing you can do about it until then, worry, worry, post on the internet in case someone can say something to calm your nerves. How horrible. Now that she has seen a doc, and he says it's not important to know, it's ok not to know (doc has said she's fine either way, she can relax). So you feel she should change doctors. I have no experience with miscarriages or what should be done afterward, so I won't comment on that part. But damn, grow a heart... So she looked for a little comfort from strangers when she didn't exactly have a hell of a lot of other options (saying right off the bat that she was going to see a doc in the morning). My god, she sure deserved all the shit you threw at her .
It is very important to find out if you actually had a miscarriage. What if part of the placenta is stuck in your uterus? You could get a very nasty infection, damage your uterus and possibly never be able to conceive. Please, switch dr.s because you NEED TO KNOW.
I'm with the others who am surprised that your doctor didn't do any follow-up tests. When I had my miscarriages (I've had two), I had blood levels drawn as well as ultrasounds to confirm that my body had taken care of things on it's own. You run a high risk of infection if your body has not rid itself of the entire pregnancy. I'd consider switching doctors as well. Your health is first and foremost, and a thorough doctor is a must! {{{Hugs}}}
You MUST have tests done to confirm whether or not you fully miscarried, if you were pregnant at all. As far as drinking, if you drank, it was probably not the harmful thing that caused the miscarriage. The embryo is self-sustaining for up to 8 days after conception, meaning that any drinking you did didn't reach the embryo. That's only after it implants on the uterine wall.
She never saw any doctor... she wanted us to tell her what the score was. She's figured she probably miscarried, and she's gonna drink, etc. til a baby appears if it ever does.
Well, sugarmag, hippyfreak, & hippychick, my doctor said that if I don't stop bleeding by Mon. then I need to see another doctor. She believes I passed all the tissue by my description of the mass. More than likely, I had a complete miscarriage. But believe me, if I'm still bleeding on Monday, I'm heading straight to the nearest ob/gyn. I'm not too worried. Thanks for your support; I appreciate your caring advice. Peace & Love
