I'm definitely not a hippy.

 

I think hippies are people who do drugs, don't like violence, and like gay colors. I'm not a hippie, I don't get why people try to be a hippie, when it is more respectable to just be yourself.

Are we talking new age hippies or old school hippies? Old school hippies are cool, if they are actually old school and grew up during that era, because shit is real. In the case of new age hippies, I'm not even talking about these dumbass wannabe, 60's revival hippies. I'm talking about the general liberal democrat college aged population. Fuck that, I'm talking about the media and society in general. It seems like the media and government took indie and hippie ideals and aesthetics, combined them into one, and made it super mainstream. Look at all the fucking commercials out there. They all have some shitty indie music in the background, with some middle aged white dudes dressed like indie kids advertising some shitty go green product.

 

i am not a hippy. i take drugs, like the 60s and 70s music, but an a rather right wing person.

 

hippies are cool, i like them, they like me... whatever they are, i don't know... i have hippie ways.

 

The old hippies I've met that were part of the 60's revolution are interesting people. Most of them don't have a fucking clue what goes on in reality though.

90% of these "new age hippies" are fakes. Hippy related fashion is now trendy. Some hippy ideals blended with today's left politics are "cool". A lot of these college aged kids are so easily swayed and so poorly informed about the world. These are kids raised by moderate parents in slightly above average households that see the world as a give away for anyone that doesn't want to work.

I have a few friends that are hippies. I don't believe with their political views but they are good people, generally more concerned with ideas similar to karma rather than material. These people however, HATE fake hippies even more than I do.

But at the end of the day, be what makes you happy.

 

Old hippies are awesome. I'm not a hippie but I have hippie ways.
