Americans buy millions of diamonds each year, and at the thousands of deaths of slaves in Africa. There are men called, "War Lords" who enslave tons of Africans to mine diamonds and treat them horribly. We as the US import tons of these diamonds each year and these are stained with the blood of many dead. See, if they try to steal diamonds, there hands are cut off. If you are going to buy a ring or such, you can find a "crisi-free" center and get just the same diamonds, but they arn't purchased threw all this horrible stuff!! ask me for more info!

Well I inherited my wifes wedding ring from a great great aunt who died in 1930 or something, and I really doubt I'll be spending any money on diamonds, just doesn't do much/anything at all for me (or her luckily)

One thing I find hilarious, how could diamonds be rare when they are so common and have been for so long...what a myth

Hm... not really. They are pretty common in the areas where they are found.. but that doesn't mean that they are that common in the Western World. The traders will very well prevent the diamond-market from being flooded with diamons so they can keep up the ridiculous prices for them.. the less they offer, the more they can ask for it.

Also.. there are diamonds and diamonds. Pure, spotless, big diamonds are as far as I know still pretty rare.. and don't forget that it's the polishing (or whatever you call it.. the art where someone makes the rough diamond into the classic diamond shaped thingie, with the little surfaces that capture light'n stuff) that makes a diamond expensive as well. The littlest crack or spot can influence the value drastically, whereas a perfect 'polished' large diamond will be worth a LOT.

Compare it with horses.. there are a lot of them, always have been, but a well trained, full blood racing horse is still a rarity and worth a LOT of money... or sth like that :p

Well, I doubt I would even know the difference between the better ones and the average.

Think about it though, how many women have a diamond ring on, or a jewelry box full of diamond bracelets etc.

I mean, there must be mines just filled with diamonds for this to have gone on so long...even if they are highly localized...its those bastards in belgium isn't it, the ones controlling the market...and the Debeers family, living off their nazi past, and the piggish american women, demanding huge rocks for their fingers.....

But in all fairness, I will cut the hand of the next diamond wearer I see, just to be fair :p

I see these commercials here "make 2 months salary last a lifetime" :D If/when the market ever crashes for diamonds, these people will be trading these rings for a months supply of firewood

How about taking a trip, or I don't know, buying a years worth of food instead of having a little bracelet.

Haha.. yeah.. pure luxury items is something I never really understood.. and even if you see diamonds as an investment.. I dunno.. that's only going to work when money is still in favor. One nice war and like you said, you'll be trading shiny things for firewood if you're lucky ;)

Are you sure that all the 'diamons bracelets' and everything are the true thing? Prolly not some lady who thinks they're real but is looking at zirconias? Hehe.. that would be even more funny.. trying to trade fake diamonds for fire wood ;)

And for the Belgiums.. I'm not quite sure actually.. a lot (if not most) diamonds come from the West-African region which was controlled by the French (Ivory Coast) and the British (Sierra Leone).. or was Guinea Belgium? Hm.. not sure. Anyway.. think most of the western world has blood on it's hands when it comes to dealing with African trade..

Are you actually trying to threaten me over the internet:D

I'm just saying you seem like the kind of dumbass who might spend all his money on a diamond bracelet, thats all.

What kind of response were you expecting from your cocky/stupid post?
