My skin is getting slightly rough through shaving. I know you can get balms etc... But it isn't always practical at 6am in the morning (when I get up for work) Plus, I seem to need to have to have a shave twice a day...I don't really wish to plaster my face with this that and the other... So, how can I easily look after my skin...and remain dashingly smooth at the same time...?
There are some really nice creams for guys by Nivea or something, my dad used one when he shaved twice a day.
I like vitamin E cream. I don't care if "it's what girls use". I'm more than comfortable with my masculinity.
I think I was over cleansing my face, making it too sensitive. Perhaps washing with a facial scrub three times a week and using cleansing wipes three times a day was a tad too much. I'm still having trouble even though I've eased off that regime and using a balm...it seems you need consistency and a regular regime...something I don't always achieve.
I use Skintimate, stuff smells so good and it makes your face as soft and smooth as a girls leg.. all that man shave cream shit smells like POLICE!! you should shave at the same time every other- day, If you shave when there is no hair like everyday, thats when youll get rough cause the hair is trapped under the skin. you should let it grow out a day, shave the next day.. It will be smoother...
I do try and let my skin have some time off. But there always seems to be a slight stubble showing through...especially on my chin and around my mouth (like a goatee). That is the real problem area...If I could sort that area out...I'd be happy.
With G bellini shaving cream. It works beautifully on the majority of my face...but my chin, man it can't handle that.
do you have one of them precision razors, its the small single blade on the backside of the razor.. Its on Fusion, and other high end disposable, I see them with dollar razor now too.. Theres like 50 million blades in the store, Its enough to drive one nuts..
No, I don't. I thought about getting one. Infact I used one. My brothers. It kinda worked on my chin...but then ripped the rest of my face to shreds. I probably need a few types of razors, to be honest. Yeah, there are far too many types of razors. Most people seem to handle these weighty decisions though. Not me it seems.
I havent seen Wilkinson since I had the razor that came apart.. Try the Fusion, it stay sharp for weeks if you clean it after.. Its not to much money. you cant shave your whole face with a precision razor, I guess you could. But its for the spot under the nose, close to the ear, dimples and stuff. Straight line drags for a 1/4inch or so.. LOL.. I can say though since it dont get used that much, Ive shaved more area with it cause it was the sharpest razor I had left. Sometimes a few cuts is better than going to the store right away. Razors are a constant commodity for me..
That's pretty much the one I have now. It comes apart. It has just been made with more modern materials. It is really quite nice...apart from not being exceptionally close. I've tried that one. Yeah, it is quite good. I found it too expensive with having to buy blades too. I guess you have to spend a little if you want quality.
i had/have trouble with my chin too - when i used the fusion or mach 3. when i switched to using my double edge slant bar razor my problems went away
Merkur Heavy Duty Slant Bar Double Edge Safety Razor Price:£27.95 :leaving: (no, seriously, i'll look for a slightly cheaper option, but it looks promising)
Do you use shaving cream, or what kind of routine do you have? I always shave in the shower, towards the end of the bathing. The steam from the warm water softens the hair and makes it less abrasive when shaving. I always use shampoo as well, instead of shaving cream.
Yes, i do use shaving cream. The brand is underneath the image of the razor. I tend to shave in the shower in the morning and later on while at work... I've tried shampoo before...quite good actually. Yeah, softening the skin in the shower is great. Using balm is great. The main thing I need: A decent razor that does what I want. The ones I use seem to rubbish for the overall shaving experience. Because I then end up needing to shave more, it is ruining my skin.
gillette pro-gel and a gillette fusion works reeal good. followed up with Nivea lotion, or if im feeling suave, i use aqua velva. make sure you are rubbing the shave cream into your face, not just on it.
