So fucked up...

So, in Amarillo today (yesterday...whatever), a 6th grader raped another 6th grader. For those of you unfamiliar with the American grade system, that makes them about 11 or 12. How fucked up is society that now 12 year olds are raping other 12 year olds? And it all came from something as innocent as a teacher sending two students, one male, one female, to run an errand. Who would ever guess that it would end up like that? The boy was arrested and is being held in the juvenile center. I know around 12 is when boys start discovering their sexuality and really hitting puberty, but shit...to force yourself on another kid that young? I guess it shows where this world is heading...

Pretty wild shit! And now the big questions is what is the cause for this type of actions and the best question, what can be done to change it.

This may be a shot in the dark, but I think the school systems around here need to seriously re-evaluate their decision to keep sex ed out of school. Maybe if kids were educated properly, there wouldn't be such an urge to experiment in such an unhealthy way. Not saying it was exactly experimenting, but man...kids are doing stuff like that younger and younger. My friend's mom is a kindergarten teacher at a local Catholic school and said a few years back she had a class and they all left the classroom as a group, but when she turned around a few were missing, so she went back to the classroom and caught the 4 of them (boys and girls) "experimenting." That bothers me just for the fact that when I was 5, a girl told me about sex and my mom corrected everything she got wrong, answered my questions, but kept most of it up to the imagination. I didn't even have a clue how sex really worked until I started my period. Yeah...maybe I was a late beginner, but still...

I'm just baffled that a 12 year old did that...

 

Often times, rapists and child molesters get out on parole and end up striking again due to pent up sexual frustration. I think they need life in prison or simply death. They're sick fucks that will never be cured.

I always define rape as violent, so I assume this case we are talking abot was this boy forced her in a violent way. Now I hope she did not consent then afterwards through guilt change her story to cover her emotions of doing something she thought to be wrong thus claimed rape. But if it was a case that he forced her, it is just totally messed up. I mean that age, in a school with lots of poeple around, was not preplanned as it seemed they were randomly called upon for this errand. I mean if this is the case, this little boy had some serious issues and had no concern for what he was going to do. I would just have a hard time thinking that it has all come down to this in our childrens future.

 

That's just awful. You better believe that kid would suffer in one way or another if it were my child that was raped. No one hurts my babies.

 

Sending them to prison might keep them away from the big wide world where they can out carrying out their attacks, but like you say, it doesn't cure them.

Also, it is too expensive, and a waste of space to keep them in prison.

I think that a more appropriate stance would be getting them psychological help, or sending them to a strict rehabiliation centre.

In England, some life sentences, don't necessarily mean life. Some people can get in serious trouble for committing a crime, whereas some of them get let off the hook.

and about jails? how much money a year do we (tax-payers) dish off to people that are just waiting to die, whats the difference between life in prison and death. now granted, i work for DoD, so i am tapping into OUR taxes as well, but i am sure as $___ am not dipping the tax pool because i raped a kid...

I'd be interested to know a few things:

One, has this girl been at all sexually active in the past? As far as making out, oral, or whatever. Also I'd be interested to know if there was sign of physical abuse or struggle. Wrists bruised? Clothes ripped? What were the circumstances surrounding the event? Did somebody witness the event or part of it, or was it a couple days later that she came forward. Does the girl have a history of lying? Does the boy have a history of abusive behavior? Does the girl have a rough home life? Does the boy have a rough home life?

All of these I believe are very important questions, unless of course there was a witness to the event.
