why did you move there again? and no, im not near... dont think id like to live in the south, honestly.
I moved here to stay a little while with my family, so I can work a couple of jobs and pay off debt I owe my parents for my last semester of school, save up for a car and a new place. I grew up here from the sges 8-16, so I'm fairly familiar with it, just don't know anyone here anymore since I moved away 7 years ago. And I agree. I like the South. Just like the North (I've lived all over his fine country, mind you,) there are undesirable places to live, but, I dunno, me being a Coonass and a Redneck (thats from Louisiana and Alabama for you Yankees), the South holds a special place in my heart.
heh... im not trying to say the south is all bad. i like the warmer weather, although when i visited tennesee in may last year, it was SOOO humid..... i wasnt used to that. but anyways... i guess im just thinking of more of the backwater, racist places in the south. i know stuff like that exists in the north too and i know all of the south isnt like that.... haha, neways... debt sucks and that is defiantly a good move that you made, i think.
Thanks, hopefully in a few months things will be taken care of. I guess if you're thinking about your own stereotypes, then Montgomery would probably be up there, since it was the catalyst for a lot of the Civil Rights Movement. But, I was raised in half of my life in this town, and honestly, its majority black, and really, race is not an issue here, its just really about who you are. Of course here are ignorant people here, jus like everywhere, but still, for the most part, its good.
that's cool. i really wasnt trying to put DOWN the south.... just dont know if id like to live there, ya know?
(just took you off my ignore list, lol) im reading a book right now... "a hundred little hitler's" and they talk some in that book about what the book calls "the most serious or worst lynching that took place in 20 years"... i think it happened in 1982 or 1983? do you know anything about that? (i know you werent born then so...... )
You should google it. And I've lived in Mobile before, I went to Spring Hill College when I was like 16-17. It was hm, interesing.
i live a little north of b' ham as a few others around here do.......but that's kinda far away to chill i suppose. im 23 too and in just about the same circumstances except my debt isn't from school, its from a jackass ex-bf. oh and add a baby to the mix....lol good luck
naw, I live waaaay too north to be around there north on out of the states, bwahahah. er... yay, it's already cold and rainy here. it's definitely gonna hit -40 this winter, arr
